Anywhere
by J Meyers

Blurb: Skye Whitcomb is running from her troubles, and where better to run than Europe? Fresh out of college, she makes quick plans with her best friend Paige and hops on a plane.
Of course, nothing ever goes as planned—at least not for her. First, Paige has to bail, and Skye’s left to travel alone. Then she meets sweet and sexy Asher Benedict in Paris, and sparks fly after a night together on the train to Rome. He’s all kinds of perfect for her, but the timing couldn’t be worse since she was running from the altar when she left—so the last thing she wants right now is a relationship.

But Skye’s about to discover that no matter how far you run, love can find you anywhere.

My Review:
Let me start by saying that Anywhere is one of the best NA contemporary romance books I’ve read, it’s original, happy and light while stil dealing with some serious topics.

Anywhere is really different than most other NA Contemporary romance books I’ve read, most of those deal with heavy topics and there is a lot of drama. Anywhere is NA contemporary romance book with a light feel, it’s happy and uplifting and while not everything is happy, the overal feeling is. It’s a great story of how one girl goes to travel in Europa and what she finds out about herself. I really enjoyed Anywhere and when I started reading I couldn’t put it down. And when it ended I just sat there wnating more, reading more of their story, wanting more. I wanted to know what happens next, I wanted to know what happens with Skye her best friends. I just wanted more of this book, but on the other hand the ending was perfect!

I really liked Skye, she goes on this trip she has been planning for years, but also to escape home, her mother and her former fiancé. She changed a lot during the story and became stronger. And then there is Asher, Asher is like the perfect guy. He is nice and considerate and perfect for Skye. I was rooting for them from the beginning and I loved reaidng how their relationship changed during the book. Sometimes I did wish they talked some things through, because some things needed talking about and especially towards the end of the book, there were some topics they kept avoiding. Then again the ending it was perfect.

The romance in this book was done really well, it progresses slowly, but not too slow and considering the fact they spend every day together I think the pace was perfect. The romance is sweet and Skye and Asher are just perfect for each other.

I liked the fact that this book is set in Europe, because whil I do live in Europe I haven’t read many books that take place there. Also the location was really important for the story, there are all these touristic places they visit, but also some quiet towns.

The only thing I have left to say is please J Meyers write another contemporary book! I want more!

To conclude: I loved Anywhere, it is original, sweet, light and full of happines and beautifull moments. I really liked the story and that the story takes place in Europe. This book had that keep-reading-feel and I didn’t want it to end. The romance was sweet and Skye ad Asher are perfect for each other. I want to read more contemporary romance books from J Meyers and I can only hope she decides to write more in this genre.

  1. You’re right. There is always a high level of drama in NA books. Maybe a bit too much. I’m curious about the topics that were left unspoken about but if the ending trumps that minor detail than that’s alright with me (:

    • Don’t get me wrong I do love some drama in my books, but sometimes it is a bit too much. And this book was a really refreshing read in this genre.
And about the topics that where left unspoken, let’s say the ending solved that eventually.
