Arriving for her morning shift, E.J. spots a sleeping homeless person outside the east entrance. But the teenage boy turns out to be neither homeless nor asleep. He is, however, dead. With half the security cameras sabotaged, no one can be sure what happened. E.J. is determined to help solve the case—whether Homicide Detective Helland likes it or not. Uncovering a deadly conspiracy right in her own mall, E.J is about to catch a killer, or get put on lay-away for good…

My Review

I received a free copy from Tantor Audio and voluntarily reviewed it.

All Sales Fatal is the second book in this cozy mystery series featuring mall cop E.J. Ferris. I really enjoyed the first book and was excited for this second book. I again had a great time listening to this one. The mystery kept me guessing and I enjoyed following E.J. as she tried to solve the mystery.

I like the mall setting this series has. The mall feels a bit like the small town, but still has a different and unique vibe compared to a lot of cozies, which I liked. E.J. is a mall cop and finds another body in this book and gets involved in solving the mystery. I thought it made sense why she got involved and found her a realistic and interesting character. I liked getting to know a bit more about her and the other characters in this sequel. There are some interesting side characters in her best friend, her grandfather and co-worker Joel.

The mystery was a good one for me and kept me guessing. I liked seeing the plot develop and the mystery play out. I wasn’t quite sure who had done it and there were a few nice twists and reveals toward the end. I liked how E.J. is the one to solve the mystery and figure it out. I always like it when the main character solves the mystery. I appreciated how it all made sense and everything fell on it’s place when the murderer confesses.

I liked listening to this one and the narrator again was great to listen to with enough variety in voices.

To summarize: I enjoyed this sequel following map cop E.J. again as she solves another mystery. The mystery was a good one that kept me guessing with some interesting twists and reveals. I liked reading about E.J. and how she investigates the mystery, I think she’s a realistic and interesting character. There are some interesting side characters as well. I like the mall setting and how it feels different from most cozies.

    • I can definitely recommend the series, it’s a good one so far with an interesting main character and good mysteries. I look forward to listening to book 3 when it’s available in audio.
