Alexia Loves TroyAlexia Loves Troy (Misfits Remix #3)
Jordan Ford

My Rating: 4 stars

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Age Category: Young Adult
Type of romance: MF

Blurb:
He’s rich, she’s poor. He plays rugby, she’s a sassy hip hop dancer. Can two people from different worlds seriously fall in love?

Alexia trusts very few people in this world. Having spent her childhood in survival mode, she’s learned to wear a coat of armor and not be afraid of a fight.

But what happens when the guy she wants to fight the most is the one who can get under her defenses with just a smile?

Troy is a rich boy, a rugby player, and his twin brother is an arrogant jerk. She could never trust someone like that, until…

He ends up being the one to help her when she needs it the most, the one to make her laugh when she’s feeling the worst, and the one who will put it all on the line in order to win her heart.

Like fire and ice, these two will sizzle, bringing out the best in each other.

But can their unlikely relationship withstand the pressure of a conniving twin brother and a life outside of Haven Academy that is determined to tear them apart?

My Review

I received a free copy from the author and am voluntarily reviewing it.

I really enjoy this series so far and this latest book is another great installment. Alexia Loves Troy follows Alexia one of the misfits who falls for rich rugby player Troy. I really liked this story. Alexia is this tough girl who is a real softie on the inside, while Troy is this nice guy who plays rugby but has a secret love for drawing. It was amazing seeing these two find their way together and bring out the best in each other.

Just like the previous books this book has again a romance of one of the poor misfit kids with one of the rich students. I like how this was again the case with Alexia and Troy. This time the girl is the misfit instead of the guy like in previous books and I liked how this changed the dynamic a bit. I also liked how while Troy seems to have it all, he has his own struggles namely with his brother acting rude and his parents not knowing and probably not understanding his passion for art. Alexia on the other hand has had a rough time until she came to Haven and even now she worries about her younger brother who she can’t see as often.

I thought these two made for such a great couple. Alexia’s tough demeanor often scares people away and while she has close friends, she never fully let a guy in like she does with Troy. Their romance builds slowly and I really liked seeing them grow closer and open up to the other more. They made for such a great couple and I liked their dynamic. With Troy having to coax Alexia out of shell and also understanding that despite her grumpy demeanor she actually cares a lot. While Alexia is super supportive of Troy’s artwork and encourages him whenever she can. They really bring out the best in each other and I really liked reading about these two.

I had guessed correctly the event that would create conflict. I thought it made sense, even though it made me sad to see Alexia put her walls up again. I wasn’t sure how they would resolve things, but I thought it was actually well done how all parties involved handled it and I actually liked how it got resolved and brought them closer. The ending was super sweet with a great gesture from Troy and then there is a short set up for the next book’s couple.

To summarize: I really enjoyed this latest book in the Misfits Remix series. Troy and Alexia are very different characters, but they make for such a great couple and bring out the best in each other. Alexia has this tough girl demeanor, but actually cares a lot. Where Troy seems to be the typical sporty guy from a rich family, who actually loves to draw and who is a super sweet and nice guy. I really liked these two together. I liked the way Troy draws Alexia out of her shell and makes her happy and how supportive and encouraging Alexia is when it comes to Troy’s art. There are so many great scenes with the two of them and I really liked seeing them slowly grow closer. I liked how the conflict got resolved. The ending was awesome with some great scenes to wrap up this romance. There is a nice set up for the next book as well and I am already looking forward to that one.

  1. I like a good opposites attract romance, too. Sounds like the conflict made sense to the story and that the romance pair were well-developed characters as was the romance.

    • It really was a great opposites attract romance, I quite like that trope when well done, which it was here. It made sense the conflict and I liked how it got resolved. This whole series is great with well-developed characters.
