MyTBRList

My To-Be Read List is a meme hosted by Because Reading is Better Than Real Life where at the beginning of the month visitors can choose which book I’ll be reading this month. On the first saturday of a month the poll will be up, then on the second saturday of the month I’ll announce the book that won and on the last saturday of the month I’ll post my review of the book.

This month I am in the mood for something familiar, so I picked three books which are part of a series I already started, but own a book I haven’t read yet. All books are fantasy/ supernatural, but all three are very different series nonetheless. Let the voting begin!

by Kelley Armstrong

Blurb:
As #1 New York Times bestselling author Kelley Armstrong’s new Cainsville series continues, Olivia’s power to read omens leads to the discovery of a gruesome crime with troubling connections to her new hometown.

Omens, the first installment in Kelley Armstrong’s exciting new series, introduced Olivia Taylor-Jones, daughter of notorious serial killers, and Gabriel Walsh, the self-serving, morally ambiguous lawyer who became her unlikely ally. Together, they chased down a devious killer and partially cleared her parents of their horrifying crimes.

Their success, however, is short-lived. While Olivia takes refuge in the old, secluded town of Cainsville, Gabriel’s past mistakes have come to light, creating a rift between the pair just when she needs his help the most.

Olivia finds a dead woman in her car, dressed to look like her, but the body vanishes before anyone else sees it. Olivia’s convinced it’s another omen, a sign of impending danger. But then she learns that a troubled young woman went missing just days ago—the same woman Olivia found dead in her car. Someone has gone to great lengths to kill and leave this young woman as a warning. But why? And what role has her new home played in this disturbing murder?

Olivia’s effort to uncover the truth places her in the crosshairs of old and powerful forces, forces that have their own agenda, and closely guarded secrets they don’t want revealed.

Here we go again …

Just when it seems life at Mythos Academy can’t get any more dangerous, the Reapers of Chaos manage to prove me wrong. It was just a typical night at the Library of Antiquities — until a Reaper tried to poison me. The good news is I’m still alive and kicking. The bad news is the Reaper poisoned someone else instead.

As Nike’s Champion, everyone expects me to lead the charge against the Reapers, even though I’m still hurting over what happened with Spartan warrior Logan Quinn. I’ve got to get my hands on the antidote fast — otherwise, an innocent person will die. But the only known cure is hidden in some creepy ruins — and the Reapers are sure to be waiting for me there …

    • Ah I didn’t realize you had a logo without background, I want it!

Kelley Armstrong is one of my favourite authors and I have already ordered the third book even though I haven’t read the second book yet.

    • I know, I can’t choose myself either, so that’s why I am happy with the help. I can’t believe I own Visions for almost half a year and still haven’t read it.

    • I loved the first book in this series and had the second book pre-ordered and now already pre-ordered the third book, even though I still haven’t read the second book. I am pretty sure I am going to love this book and maybe that’s why I keep putting off reading it, so I keep that feeling of knowing I haven’t read it yet.

    • They are all great series so far! That’s a fun way to decide on which book to vote, lol. Have you read her elemental assassin series? I still have to catch up on that series as well.

    • They are all great series, I rated most books in these series 4 or 5 stars, so I would recommend them all. Which also makes it surprising I still haven’t read these sequels.

    • I think I am around book 5 or 6 as well, I really want to get catched up on it. I hope I can get a few more books in the series read this year as I still own one or two books in the series I haven’t read yet.

    • I am really curious about this book, I want to know how this series ends, but I still haven’t gotten around to reading it. Even if it doesn’t get chosen I will probably read this soon!
