My To-Be Read List is a meme hosted by Because Reading is Better Than Real Life where at the beginning of the month visitors can choose which book I’ll be reading this month. On the first saturday of a month the poll will be up, then on the second saturday of the month I’ll announce the book that won and on the last saturday of the month I’ll post my review of the book.

Last week you could vote to help me decide which of three books I would read this month. The winner is: Empowered: Agent (Empowered #1) by Dale Ivan Smith! I’ll also try to read the prequel novella to this one.

The votes were really close this time as you can see below:
– Empowered: Agent (Empowered #1) by Dale Ivan Smith – 40 %/ 8 votes
– Playing House by Laura Chapman – 30%/ 6 votes
– The Retreat (The After Trilogy #1) by Kelly St. Clare – 30%/ 6 votes

The Winner

Blurb:
The world says those with superpowers are either heroes or villains. But what if youโ€™re both?

Mathilda Brandt isnโ€™t the angry, out-of-control teenager she was before she got out of jail. Sheโ€™s hungry for a chance at a normal life, but when a gang threatens her sisters, she has no choice but to use her illegal superpower to protect them.

A secretive government agency gives her a choice: go back to prison for life, or infiltrate a notorious super-villain group in order to stop a psychotic Empowered. To save her city, her family, and herself, Mat must become the last thing she ever wanted to be again: a criminal.

What aspect of this book sounds the most interesting to you?

    • I am not sure actually if this is YA, I think in the prequel novella she’s a teenager, but not in this one I think. I’ll be able to say for sure once I’ve read it ๐Ÿ™‚

    • I am really curious about this one :). I managed to get this one when it was only $0.99, the author sometimes runs a discount for it.
