Because reading is better than real life

My To-Be Read List is a meme hosted by Because Reading is Better Than Real Life where at the beginning of the month visitors can choose which book I’ll be reading this month. On the first saturday of a month the poll will be up, then on the second saturday of the month I’ll announce the book that won and later that month my review will follow.

Last week you could vote for which book you wanted me to read this month. As it’s sci-fi month I choose for three sci-fi books. I am happy to announce I wil be reading True Calling and Gameboard of the Gods this month!
This month it seemed to be a hard choice. So far in the past month’s there always was one book that seemed less popular, but this month the choices were venly matched. At first there was a tie between True Calling and Brew and then Gameboard of the Gods suddenly got some votes and got into a tie with True Calling. I am not sure if I can manage to read both of them, but I am going to try. I hope to have at least one of them reviewed in two weeks.

Blurb:
In a futuristic world nearly destroyed by religious extremists, Justin March lives in exile after failing in his job as an investigator of religious groups and supernatural claims. But Justin is given a second chance when Mae Koskinen comes to bring him back to the Republic of United North America (RUNA). Raised in an aristocratic caste, Mae is now a member of the military’s most elite and terrifying tier, a soldier with enhanced reflexes and skills.

When Justin and Mae are assigned to work together to solve a string of ritualistic murders, they soon realize that their discoveries have exposed them to terrible danger. As their investigation races forward, unknown enemies and powers greater than they can imagine are gathering in the shadows, ready to reclaim the world in which humans are merely game pieces on their board.

Gameboard of the Gods, the first installment of Richelle Mead’s Age of X series, will have all the elements that have made her YA Vampire Academy and Bloodlines series such megasuccesses: sexy, irresistible characters; romantic and mythological intrigue; and relentless action and suspense.

  1. There was a tie again on mine as well! I even had my hubby vote in hopes there wouldn’t be a tie. Guess I should just leave his vote for the end and only have him vote if I need it. 🙂 I hope you enjoy both your books. I enjoyed Gameboard a lot, it’s different. My friend loved True Calling and I want to read it at some point. My results will be up in a little while.

    • I considered letting my boyfriend vote, but I already had him break a tie last time and as I want to rea dboth books, I thought let’s set a higher goal to read them both this month. I am pretty sure I am not going to be able to read them both, though, but maybe review the other early December?
I read a really good review of True Calling on someone’s blog this month, so I think I am going to start with that one!
