MyTBRList

My To-Be Read List is a meme hosted by Because Reading is Better Than Real Life where at the beginning of the month visitors can choose which book I’ll be reading this month. On the first saturday of a month the poll will be up, then on the second saturday of the month I’ll announce the book that won and on the last saturday of the month I’ll post my review of the book.

Just like last month I decided to go with cozy mysteries again this month. I had 3 cozy mystery paperbacks I hadn’t featured yet, so here they are. All 3 are also new to me authors, two of them are new releases and they are all the first book in the series.

Peaches and ScreamPeaches and Scream (Georgia Peach Mystery #1)

Blurb:
In the first Georgia Peach Mystery, when murder threatens her family’s orchard, Nola Harper is ready to pick out the killer and preserve the farm’s reputation…

To help run the family peach farm during her parents’ absence, Nola Harper returns to her childhood home of Cays Mill, Georgia, and soon discovers that things back at the farm aren’t exactly peachy. A poor harvest and rising costs are threatening to ruin the Harpers’ livelihood, and small-town gossip is spreading like blight thanks to Nola’s juicy reputation as a wild teenager way back when. But Nola really finds herself in the pits when she stumbles upon a local businessman murdered among the peach trees.

With suspicions and family tensions heating up faster than a cobbler in the oven, this sweet Georgia peach will have to prune through a list of murder suspects—before she too becomes ripe for the killer’s picking…

A Disguise to Die ForA Disguise to Die For (Costume Shop Mystery #1)
by Diane Vallere

You can find A Disguise to Die For on Goodreads

Blurb:
Someone is dressed to kill in the debut Costume Shop Mystery from the national bestselling author of the Material Witness mysteries.

No sooner does former magician’s assistant Margo Tamblyn return home to Proper City, Nevada, to run Disguise DeLimit, her family’s costume shop, than she gets her first big order. Wealthy nuisance Blitz Manners needs forty costumes for a detective-themed birthday bash. As for Blitz himself, his Sherlock Holmes is to die for—literally—when, in the middle of the festivities, Margo’s friend and party planner Ebony Welles is caught brandishing a carving knife over a very dead Blitz.

For Margo, clearing Ebony’s name is anything but elementary, especially after Ebony flees town. Now Margo is left to play real-life detective in a town full of masked motives, cloaked secrets, and veiled vendettas. But as she soon learns, even a killer disguise can’t hide a murderer in plain sight for long.

INCLUDES RECIPES AND COSTUME IDEAS!

I went with a Disguise to Die For because it sounds like something I would read myself. I love this theme, by the way, as I’ve been wanting to add some cozies to my own TBR. Can’t wait to see what wins and how you like it.

    • I’ve been in a cozy mood lately, so all cozies seemed like a good theme. And A Disguise to Die for sounds really good, can’t wait to read it!

    • I am glad to hear you enjoyed A Disguise to Die for, it sounds like a good one! I hope I’ll enjoy it as well.
And cozies always look so cute and fun 🙂

    • I always have trouble picking a cozy mystery, I want to read a cozy mystery, but never sure which one as all the ones I have sound good. I am really curious about Diane Vallere her book and saw some good reviews around already.

    • Oh that sounds good it made it your keepers shelf! I’ll stop by to check out your review next. The blurb sounds so good and the costume shop plot sounds so interesting.

The other two sound very good too! I liked the sound of the popcorn shop and the cover is so pretty for Kernel of Truth. And Peaches and Scream got recommended me to me by someone I think and it sounds good.

Overflowing with cozies is a good problem to have 😉

    • I don’t eat popcorn as often, but I do like it when I am in the mood for it. The concept of a popcorn shop just sounds so fun and original that I had to read this one.
