My To-Be Read List #10: poll

June 6, 2015 My To-Be Read List 33

MyTBRList

My To-Be Read List is a meme hosted by Because Reading is Better Than Real Life where at the beginning of the month visitors can choose which book I’ll be reading this month. On the first saturday of a month the poll will be up, then on the second saturday of the month I’ll announce the book that won and on the last saturday of the month I’ll post my review of the book.

Okay below are are the 3 books on which you can vote this month, all 3 are 3 random books on my to-read that looked good to me at that moment. one is Young Adult, one is New Adult and one is Adult. Two are contemporary romances and one of them is paranormal. So all pretty different. Oh I own all of these as e-books and they are the first book in a series that’s something they have in common.

Blurb:Maddie Moore’s whole life needs a makeover.

In one fell swoop, Maddie loses her boyfriend (her decision) and her job (so not her decision). But rather than drowning her sorrows in bags of potato chips, Maddie leaves L.A. to claim the inheritance left by her free-spirited mother—a ramshackle inn nestled in the little coastal town of Lucky Harbor, Washington.

Starting over won’t be easy. Yet Maddie sees the potential for a new home and a new career—if only she can convince her two half-sisters to join her in the adventure. But convincing Tara and Chloe will be difficult because the inn needs a big makeover too.

The contractor Maddie hires is a tall, dark-haired hottie whose eyes—and mouth—are making it hard for her to remember that she’s sworn off men. Even harder will be Maddie’s struggles to overcome the past, though she’s about to discover that there’s no better place to call home than Lucky Harbor.

Blurb:
The sport she loves is out of reach. The boy she loves has someone else.

What now?

She expected to start Harkness College as a varsity ice hockey player. But a serious accident means that Corey Callahan will start school in a wheelchair instead.

Across the hall, in the other handicapped-accessible dorm room, lives the too-delicious-to-be real Adam Hartley, another would-be hockey star with his leg broken in two places. He’s way out of Corey’s league.

Also, he’s taken.

Nevertheless, an unlikely alliance blooms between Corey and Hartley in the “gimp ghetto” of McHerrin Hall. Over tequila, perilously balanced dining hall trays, and video games, the two cope with disappointments that nobody else understands.

They’re just friends, of course, until one night when things fall apart. Or fall together. All Corey knows is that she’s falling. Hard.

But will Hartley set aside his trophy girl to love someone as broken as Corey? If he won’t, she will need to find the courage to make a life for herself at Harkness — one which does not revolve around the sport she can no longer play, or the brown-eyed boy who’s afraid to love her back.

Blurb:
Caitlyn Davis always cruised through life, not being the type to ruffle feathers or involve herself in high school drama. That is, until a chance encounter with a strange, homeless man changes everything.

Suddenly, Caitlyn has the ability to see behind people’s masks. She discovers that her life isn’t as simple as she imagined and high school is filled with secrets…some very sinister ones.

Unable to ignore her new gift, Caitlyn embarks on a mission to learn why one of her friends suddenly appears terrified, but masks her fear with a bright, smiling veneer. Will Caitlyn’s new ability lead her into hot water? Or is her new found vision a blessing that will expose her friends’ true colors?

Her quest will lead Caitlyn to lose friends, stand up for those in need, and even find love.

At Palisades High School every face tells a story…

I was so happy to grab The Year We Fell Down when it was free a few weeks ago. I heard good things about it 🙂

I can’t believe I still haven’t read any of Jill Shavis her books, I heard a lot of good thigns about her series and I bought this book a while ago. I recently got approved for another of her books on netgalley as well.
And I am happy to hear this is one of your favourite contemporary romance series, makes me even more eager to get started on this series!

I agree the cover of True Colors is really gorgeous and combined with the intriguing blurb it’s a shame I haven’t read it yet.

True Colors because look at that beautiful cover! I think I might actually have picked it up at some point because of the pretty cover too – so now I’m hoping to find out if it’s good and I should dig it out 🙂

I think it was free for some time? I got it for my ipad as well, even though I already bought a copy for my Kobo. That cover is so pretty, I helped with the cover reveal a long time ago and grabbed the book as soon as it was released.

I have two of her books now and really think I should finally read one of her books, I heard so many good things about her books. I actually think you were the one to recommend her books to me if I remember correctly.
