THE TRUTH WON’T STAY HIDDEN FOREVER

To protect Logan, I’ve no choice but to betray his trust.
The stakes are high, and there are no guarantees.
But I’m not the only one hiding the truth.
Will our love survive all the secrets and lies?

Enemy alien ships crowd the skies over Earth while the world waits with bated breath. The Saven have been exposed, and where once they were abhorred, they are now championed as our greatest ally and our only possible savior.

Logan and Sadie have been separated, and the longer he is gone, the more their love is tested by duty, doubts, and deception.

Sadie and Jarod have infiltrated the highest levels of government, but they are playing a dangerous game. Surrounded by people with conflicting agendas–hell-bent on using her for their own aim–Sadie is confused when the lines between good and evil are blurred. It’s impossible to tell friend from foe, and no one can be trusted.

When the full extent of the experiments taking place in Sector Twenty is disclosed, Sadie can no longer sit back and watch as the lower classes face a horrific fate. Racing to save her loved ones and mankind, she risks her own safety and the love she’s waited a lifetime for to do the right thing.

But no one thought to save her from herself.

My Cover Review:
I love this cover! Everything just works so well together and I can honestly say that I think this author her covers are always so pretty and make me even more excited to read the books as well. I like the pose of the main characters, how she’s looking out over the water and the futuristic city in the background. I also like how she fits the description of sadie in the book and I like her light coloured hair and how it matched perfectly with the other colours on the cover. Oh and I wonder what’s the relevance of that big planet like thing in the background of the cover. It sure gives the cover that sci-fi feel hinting to other planets and aliens, which is what this series is about.

I love the colours on this cover even more than the cover for the first book in this series, which had blue and grey. This cover has mostly purple and grey and it’s such a stunning colour combination. It almost has a bit of a magical and mysterious feel.

To sumamrize: I love this cover, everything from the pose of the main character, the colours to how it seems to fit the story with the lanet and how the cover model fits the description of the main character. It’s a great cover and I can’t wait to read this book!

Excerpt from Saven Disclosure:
I pad into the kitchen and hoist myself up onto a stool at the counter. Haydn slides two muffins and a home-made smoothie across to me. “You trying to fatten me up?” I inquire
“You need to eat more when you’re training.”
“I’m sure I read somewhere that you should eat more protein when in training. I doubt you’re supposed to be indulging in calorie-laden treats.”
“Watch your mouth!” Haydn swats me with a dish towel. “Those muffins are made with bran, yoghurt, honey, and fruit. All natural. And totally healthy. Now shut up and eat.”
“Ooh, get you! All right!” I hold my hands up in defeat. “But I doubt I’ll manage two.”
“You can give one to Jarod in work,” he suggests.
I snort. “As if he’d eat anything you prepared! I’d have to lie and tell him I baked it myself.”
Jarod isn’t over his aversion to aliens. And that’s putting it mildly. He absolutely refuses to go anywhere with me outside of work if any of my Saven friends is involved, and he hasn’t ever stepped foot in this apartment. It’s a constant source of tension between us; the cause of more than a few arguments. I understand he’s pissed over the whole memory-erase situation, and the fact that enemy alien ships still hover in our skies doesn’t do much to ease any human’s apprehension, but I’ve tried explaining, time and time again, that we have nothing to fear from Logan and Co., but he won’t hear a word of it.
While I’m grateful that Jarod managed to make it out of Thalassic City safely, and I’m thrilled to be working in the same building as him, sometimes I could happily bash his head against the wall.

Note from the author: This is from the unedited draft and the final version is subject to change.

  1. I love this cover! I actually wasn’t crazy about the cover of the first book, but this one is gorgeous. Totally would’ve used it for my skyline post if it had already been revealed 😛 I really like the colors too. I don’t think I realized purple and gray could look that good together. I’m actually more tempted to try the series now. (Also this book comes out on my birthday which is entirely irrelevant but I couldn’t help but notice lol.)

    • I do agree that I like this cover even more than the cover for the first one. I thinkt hat’s because of the skyline and how we see the model her back instead of face. And ofcourse the colours on this one. I can’t remember ever seeing purple and gray on a cover before, but it’s such a beautifull combination of colours.

And that’s awesome the book comes out ony our birthday, even if it’s irrelevant, it’s still cool when a book is beign released on your birthday. I hope you’ll give this series a try! I really enjoyed the first book and am looking forward to read the second one!

        • Thanks for your lovely comments, Paula. I usually give my designer 2 – 3 suggestions for the cover and then I let her work her magic! I try to incorporate a particular scene or setting from the story so that it gives a true sense of what the book is about. For this cover that meant including the MC and highlighting the sci-fi element and the mystery/intrigue of the plot. I always keep this in mind when I’m writing and by the end of the first draft, I usually have a few ideas for the graphics. The scene on the cover is one of my favourite scenes from the book, and I knew it would look visually appealing if we found the right stock imagery. I like to try and keep some consistency with my covers so I wanted the grey, smoky theme to continue through all covers in this series, but I suggested mixing up the complimentary colour on each book so it’s still unique. My designer came up with the purple/pink hue and I loved it instantly!

          • How interesting to hear how you come up with the cover and how it matches a scene from the book. And I think it’s a great idea to keep one colour consistent and adding a new one. I love the colour combination of purple ad grey on this one! And it definitely has a sci-fi feel, so the cover succeeded in that aspect.

          • I can see why you loved the concept instantly, Siobhan! It’s interesting that you keep the cover in mind as you’re writing. That’s a great idea. Have you ever found that you’ve had to go back and change the writing so that you have a cover idea you like?

            • On occasion, Paula. With this book I slightly adjusted the description to fit the image. Originally, the city had a lake in the center but we couldn’t find a stock image that worked, so I rewrote it to include the lake on the outskirts of the city instead. My cover for Light of a Thousand Stars (my other series) has a couple with a rose between them. That gave me an A-ha!’ moment – knowing exactly where I could slot Zane giving Ariana the rose into one particular scene, so off I went and added that!
