Forever and One WeekForever and One Week (Spirits of Saoradh #2)
by Caroline Cairn
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Age category: Adult
Release Date: 24 April, 2016

Blurb:
The Spirits of Saoradh, who carry the guilt of a crime they committed when they were alive, now spend their ghostly days in the Void, dark nothingness where time and space are distorted. Until they get bound to a human. As often as needed, that human can call them to the real world, ask them to grant a wish, then send them back to the Void. The Spirits also have to follow strict rules or be punished, unaware that they can earn their redemption through a selfless sacrifice.

Spirit Logan despises the obedience he has to show to his humans, and prefers the enjoyable solitude of the Void. For three years, he has managed to threaten them into severing their bond, thus having his memory wiped of their existence. Except his latest human, an emotionless woman with a secret past, isn’t scared of him. Worse, she doesn’t care about his ability to make wishes come true.

Tessa, a twenty-six-year-old nursery teacher in Fort William, Scotland, doesn’t expect a sullen ghost only she can see and touch to burst through her solid defences. Both dismayed and intrigued, she offers Logan a deal he can’t refuse: to live with her in the human world for one week, at the end of which she will agree to release him.

Slowly, Tessa braves through the safety of her detachment towards people to show Logan some kindness. But the more her feelings deepen, the more Logan increases his distance…

My Cover Review:
This cover is so pretty and it fits the the feel of this book. I have recently read the first book in this series and really enjoyed it, so I am really curious about this one. I can also say that I feel that these covers really fit the books. There is the couple which hints to the romance aspects and I like the more unconventional poses. they aren’t kissing or entangles, but from their pose you can still see they acre about each other and I like that. Then there is the setting picture at the bottom, which gives a feel for the setting. This series is set in Scotland, but while the picture doesn’t make that obvious, I do think it fits the cover and the books.

I always like covers that hint to the genre and this one seems to do nicely, with the couple hinting to the romance aspect and the scenic picture hinting to the setting a bit. The only thing that doesn’t shine through as strongly is the paranormal aspect, but as that’s petty subtle I think that’s okay and the blue colour and gold font does give it a bit of a magical feel, so there’s that.

I like how the cover designs for the two books so far match in design, scenic below, title int he middle and the couple on the top of the cover, but each cover has a different colour, different scenic picture and a different colour. Concerning the colour, I really like the blue colour used on this cover, it gives the cover a calm feeling. It makes me think of the sea and night, and while I don’t know if that fits the story, I do like the feel the covers gives off.

The font and font colour used fits nicely with the simply design, it doesn’t really catches the attention, but it fits the overall feel. I like how the golden colour nicely contrasts with the blue background and it somehow makes the title pop. It even gives the cover a tiny hint of magical feel.

To summarize: I really like the cover, it looks great and I like the way these covers are designed. I like how there’s the couple at the top hinting to the romance aspect the title in bold gold in the middle and then the scenic picture at the bottom. The whole cover has a sweet and romantic feel, while also having a calm feel due to the scenic picture and the use of the blue colour. I really like how this cover matches the first cover in this series, while still being different as well, but it’s also obvious it’s part of the same series. All in all it’s a great cover.

About the Author:
Born and raised in France, Caroline Cairn studied hotel management before spending a couple of years in England, Ireland and Belgium. In 2001, she and her husband settled close to the Loch Ness monster in the Highlands of Scotland, and soon, two children and about thirteen fish joined them.
Dramatic scenes are still her favourite to work on, which is perhaps a reminiscence of her teenage years when every single ones of her stories had to end in epic tragedy (Shakespeare had nothing on her).
Thankfully, these days, she veers towards the happy-ever-after finale in a glorious orange and red sunset.

  1. Based on the blurb, the color scheme and setting do seem to match the mood of the story. The way the couple aren’t quite insync, but still together show its a romance and the conflict a little, too. I do enjoy when a cover captures the essence of the story.

I didn’t know about this series. I’ll have to check it out b/c it sounds good.

    • I really enjoyed the first book in this series, my review will be up next week I think. And the covers definitely match the feel and mood of the story. I am looking forward to reading the second book.
And yes I like how it shows the romances, but also a bit of the conflict.

    • I am glad I could organize this cover reveal for you :). And just let me know when you’re planning your next cover reveal or need help with anything else.
And I am looking forward to read Forever and One Week!

    • The matching covers are really done well with these books, the covers have the same style and feel, but also are different enough. The unconventional pose is one of my favourite things about the cover :).
