So while I was thinking about how to improve my blog I came up with the idea to interview other bloggers, often authors are interviewed, but I think that it also would be interesting to interview bloggers. My plan is to post a blogger interview every saturday, but for today I make an exception and post on Monday.
After I had come up with this idea I immediately knew which blogger I wanted to interview first, Kayleigh from K-books. I hope you enjoy reading my interview with Kay and don’t forget to check out her awesome blog!
Welcome to Lola’s Reviews! I am so excited to have you on my blog today. Even before I became a co-blogger at K-books I have always loved your blog and I still do, I think you have an awesome blog and I like visiting it to see what’s new.
Aww thank you so much. I loved having you on K-Books as a c-blogger. =)
Why did you decide to start blogging?
Well a few years ago I joined a website called Goodreads and started discussing the books I read with other readers and then it kind of just progressed from discussions to writing small reviews of what I liked and didn’t like about books on Goodreads. Then a friend on there suggested that I start a book blog. After looking into it and finding some pretty awesome blogs to follow I decided to start K-Books. That was almost two years ago and I am so happy I decided to do it as I just adore blogging.
How did you came up with the name for your blog, K-Books?
I am so not a creative person. I am not good at coming up with titles and names for things and the blog was no different. The most difficult thing about starting the blog for me was coming up with the name. I spent hours thinking about it and just couldn’t think of anything… all names I likes were taken or were too similar to other blogs I followed. Eventually I ended up just going okay well for now I’ll just stick my initial K and then books as it’ll be a book blog and I can change it later when I come up with something else. I guess it just kinda stuck.
How old is your blog now?
K-Books will have its two-year blogaversary in February. I am so excited about it and have some awesome plans for it.
What do you enjoy most about blogging?
Everything. I just love it all. I love reading and discussing books with other readers and I love giving people suggestions of books I have loved and seeing them reading it. I’ve been told I’m a pretty good book-pusher LOL. I guess my favourite part of blogging is the community. So many of my closest friends now are bloggers and it’s so great to communicate with other bloggers. They are so awesome and friendly and supportive of each other. It’s a great thing to be a part of.
How did you decide on this design for your blog?
Oohh that is a tough question. This design I have now is like my fifth or sixth design K-Books has had. I’m really not a very technological person and web-design is just the toughest thing ever to me. I always had really simple designs using the normal blogger template. Then just before my first blogoversary at the beginning of this year I saw my good friend’s Donna and Jess’ new blog design at their blog Book Passion For Life and just loved it. It was so beautiful and professional and they gave me the details of their blog designer and so I contacted Vicky (Books Biscuits and Tea/Sweet Dream Designs) and she did my blog design. She is just absolutely fantastic to work with and asks your opinion every step of the way and if you don’t like it with change it again and again until you do. She is amazing and it’s great value for money. I love my design and it’s all because of Vicky and if I ever wanted another design I would only ever go to Vicky.
When I arrive on K-books, the thing that always attracts my attention is that JLA (Jennifer L. Armentrout) banner just beneath the K-books header. Can you tell me why you decided to put a JLA banner on your blog?
Haha. Well I think everyone who has ever spoken to me or anything knows the answer to that question. Jennifer L Armentrout is my absolute favourite author in the whole world. I adore her and am obsessed with her books. She is just so awesome. I have read her books multiple times, I’ve actually just read Obsidian for like the 21sttime I just cannot get enough of them. They are so phenomenal. I just really love her books so much and love her covers so much that I just wanted something on my blog to show my love and support for her and to showcase my favourite books because Jen’s books are without a doubt my favourite books in the entire world. I could get rid of all of my other books and only read and re-read Jen’s forever and never get bored. I love them that much. So I really wanted something to show that and hopefully people who haven’t read her books before will see the banner and look up the books and read them. They are the best and everyone who hasn’t read them before should go read them… right now! Because they are the best books ever!
Thanks Kay for the interview!
