The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
What happened this week?
Again my hopes for a calm and relaxing week didn’t quite take form, but we did get some things done, which was nice too. My partner and I tackled cleaning out this small storage area next to our living room this week. When we moved last year we put a bunch of stuff in there and realized we weren’t really using some of it, so we moved the things we didn’t really use to the attic instead so we have more space and can easier access the things we do need.
It was a very warm week here weather wise and it quite suddenly got very warm, so that was kinda hard to deal with. I don’t deal well with warm weather and with it happening so suddenly it felt even worse.
Gut wise I feel like things have stabilized now that I figured out a lot of what I can eat and what not. In a few weeks I want to try reintroducing some foods to see if I can eat them or not or how much as I removed some foods from my diet without knowing for sure they caused symptoms. One of the highlights of this week was finding these small gluten and lactose free cakes I could eat without symptoms, the texture was a bit weird, but the taste was good.
What did I read this week?
This week I blogged about:
– Review: The Mating Game by Lana Ferguson
– Review: The Fossil Door by Celia Lake
– Review: Sea Blooms by H.P. Lane
What to expect next week on the blog:
– Review: Pint of No Return by Dana Mentink
– Review: The Corpse by the Creek by Iris March
– Review: Crystals and Conspiracies by Beth Dolgner

Yes – it’s been really hot here too. And like you – without any warning. At least it’s starting to cool down again here. I hope you also are getting cooler weather. Take care and have a great week, Lola.
I think we’re getting some cooler weather here as well this week.
We started getting the summer heat here too. I’m not a fan of it either. But I guess it is that time of year. Which means I want to stay inside in my AC as much as possibly. Hope you have a good week, I’ve got so many reviews to get caught up on!

Sadly we don’t have an AC, so even inside the house it’s way too warm. AC’s aren’t very common here, but I wonder if that might change as the summers are getting hotter.
Your books look great – the covers are so gorgeous.
Sorry to hear about the heat! We just went through a spell of hot weather here. We don’t have our AC installed in our new home yet, which was hard but we got through it somehow.
Have a wonderful week ahead!
Here in the Netherlands AC’s aren’t that common in houses, so we don’t have one either. It’s hard to handle the hot weather without one. I hope you can get your AC installed soon.
The hot weather just saps my energy, too. Glad you had a relatively calm week and got to tackle that storage project and free up some space. That will be neat if you discover you can add a few foods back into your regular diet.
Have a good week, Lola!
It was nice to tackle that storage project, it feels so much nicer to have that cleaned out. Luckily the weather is cooler this week and I hope I can try start testing with some foods and see how my gut reacts soon.
It’s been really hot here too. They make fans that you can add water and ice to that blows colder air and that helps when you don’t have an AC.
I might have to see if I can find a fan like that here, that does sound nice as we don’t have AC here.
It was super warm here too, though I think the heat’s broken for now. Used to be that 32C weather was a rarity here and maybe would happen in July/August but not other than that… but here we are.
Hope you manage a peaceful week this week!
I still need to try something by Celia Lake; I always mean to, but…
Same here, such high temperatures used to be very rare, but not anymore. Luckily this week is cooler.
I hope you get to check out one of Celia Lake’s books, I’ve really enjoyed the ones I read so far.
The hot is coming back later this week here. Last week was rain – yay we needed it. I’m glad you are finding things that you can eat. My daughter has done a lot of that. So great you reorganized your storage.

Here it’s been the opposite, warm last week, but we got a bunch of rain and colder temperatures this week. It really is a struggle figuring out what I can eat and what not, I am sorry your daughter had to deal with it as well. The storage feels so much better after cleaning it out and reorganizing things.
