Today I am sharing 10 books I am excited about in 2026. This is not a favorites list or my most anticipated list, but it is a list of books that I very excited about in 2026. I only included books that are already on pre-order and have a cover available, so that limited my selection somewhat. I was delighted I actually found some indie books to include in my list as well.

I am linking this one up with Books of My Heart their top ten list posts.
12 Books I am Excited for that are Releasing in 2026
Lost Traditions by Claudie Arseneault
I really like this series and look forward to the next book releasing. This is such a fun adventure filled cozy fantasy book. I am still a few books behind, but that just means plenty to read till this one releases.
Ghosts of the Revolution by Janna Ruth
I really like this series and this book will be ninth and last book in the series. I am sad to see it end, but also so excited for this one. I really like this series, Alix is such a likeable main character and I love how she’s there for the ghosts and sees them as real people. This one has a wonderful m/f/m romance, plenty of action and danger. And it’s set in Paris and is just a wodnerful urban fantasy series, if you like that genre I can definitely recommend it.
Rite of Lies and Loyalty by Laura Greenwood
I just love this series and am fully caught up with it and eagerly anticipating the next release! I hadn’t expected to love this series so much, but it’s one of my favorites by this author and that’s saying a lot as I really like her books. This one has a vampire main character who didn’t know she was a vampire and has to get sued to being a vampire and life at court. There is an amazing romance and I just love Linc and Bea together and how they are really a team and there for the other.
Manifesting and Mischief by Beth Dolgner
I’ve read the first two books in this series and really like it. This series follows 4 older ladies who form a found family and coven of witches. There is plenty of fun witchy powers, cool familiars as well as mysteries. I really like it and look forward to this third book.
Moss’d in Space by Rebecca Thorne
I haven’t read anything by this author yet, but I just love the sound of this one. It’s a cozy science fiction book. I love cozy anything and haven’t read many cozy science fiction books, so I can’t wait for this one! Maybe in the meantime I can start on the authors Tea and Tomes series.
Sorcerous Plates by Tao Wong
I listened to the first three books in this series and really enjoyed all of them. This is a cozy fantasy series with a strong food focus. The food descriptions are so well done and I really like hearing about all the dishes served. There’s also some magic and some ongoing plot lines related to the restaurant. I can defintiely recommend this one if you like food focused books or cozy fantasy. I look forward to this fourth book in the series.
Field Guide for the Formerly Villainous by Autumn K. England
I love the cozy fantasy genre and this one sounds so good. It even gets compared to the game Stardew Valley, which I taught was interesting and I like that game, so really curious how that comparison works out. The blurb also mentions it’s for fans of The Spellshop, which I loved. I love the sound of the cozy vibes and the gentle healing.
Without a Clue by Melissa Ferguson
This one sounds so fun. It had romance and a mystery and is set aboard a cruise shop. I’ve been wanting to read another mystery set aboard a cruise ship as it seems like such a fun setting for them and this one sounds good. I already know the narrator for this one Karissa Vacker, so will probably get this in audio.
Sea of Charms by Sarah Beth Durst
Sea of Charms is the third book in The Spellshop series. I loved The Spellshop and am currently reading the second book in the series. These are wodnerful cozy fantasy books with a bit of romance and anger. I really look forward to this third book and the blurb for this one sounds so good, this one is set aboard a boat and the main character has a sea serpent as a companion, which sounds so cool. I also like that last line about it being about finding your crew, your family, and moreover, finding yourself. Sounds like my type of book.
Rolls and Rivalry by Kristy Boyce
I really liked the other two books with the gaming theme by Kristy Boyce that I read and I was so excited when I saw she’s releasing a new one next year. I don’t read a lot of YA, but these books are so awesome. The first two I read had realistic characters, plenty of D&D that’s part of the story and a sweet romance.
The Dog Park Murders by Angela Barker
This is a cozy mystery with a grumpy-sunshine romance and something about this one just sounds so good. The female main character is a pet groomer and the male main character is a coffee shop owner. Sounds like this one will have plenty of pets too and I like the sound of them teaming up to solve the mystery.
The Faraway Inn by Sarah Beth Durst
After enjoying The Spellshop by this author so much I am really excited to check out one of her other books as well. And I just love the sound of this one.I just love the tagline for this one: “After a devastating heartbreak, a teen girl decides to spend her summer helping her eccentric great aunt manage her quaint Vermont inn—but the fixer-upper is hiding a magical secret.” How fun does that sound?
