sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This week was again a struggle with lots of gloomy days and low energy and low mood due to it. We did have two sunnier days which was lovely and I felt a lot better those days. I’ve also taken to using my daylight lamp a bit later in the day as else I was so tired in the evenings and didn’t feel well, using the daylight lamp makes me feel a bit more alive during the evenings.

We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving here, but the Black Friday discounts have been going for the whole month already. I got a few things I needed with the discounts, which was nice. We do have the Sinterklaas holiday here in 5 December, but that’s mostly for kids, but there is a lot of good candy that’s only available this time of year which we’ve been enjoying. A local bakery here makes some very good Speculaas Staaf, which is this spiced soft cookie filled with almond paste.

And an update on my mom. I got the good news that she was able to go home last Thursday, so that’s good news she doesn’t have to stay at the hospital. I had called earlier in the week and she was still improving, although her wound will take a while time to heal.

What did I read this week?

Divination and DeceitAutumn Tales From Cozy Vales

Divination and Deceit was a fun paranormal cozy mystery book and I really liked this book and seeing the characters grow closer. It had an interesting mystery and I liked the side character who did divination using frozen peas.
Autumn Tales From Cozy Vales was a good cozy fantasy anthology with an autumn theme and I enjoyed most of the stories.
Playing the Game had a good variety of steamy content, but it lacked some character depth to fully hook me.
I also finished a nonfiction book Birds of the Pacific Northwest For Kids, which was great and I liked learning about a wide variety of birds and interesting facts about them.

This week I blogged about:

Review: Cursed Cocktails by S.L. Rowland
Review: One Sharp Stitch by Allie Pleiter
Review: The Hellhound Growl by Ariana Jade
