sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

Another busy week preparing to move. I am so tired, stressed and anxious at all times. Sometimes I wish it would all go faster and other times I feel like it’s going too fast as there’s still so much to do. And it’s like I can feel the weight and effort of everything that still needs to get done. I try to focus on what I need to do each day, but it’s hard to not get completely overwhelmed. At least the packing things in boxes is going well and I made good progress with that this week. And this week there were so many small and big things that didn’t go quite smoothly or even went wrong and it all added to the stress and tiredness. I am also dealing with a bad headache right now.

This week we got the keys, so now the actual work in the new house can get started. My boyfriend is doing some painting there with his father. While I mostly focused on getting some administrative stuff done here and doing some more packing and cleaning out.

I even got a little bit of work done for one of my authors, she told me I didn’t have to do much while moving, but I had a bit of time and the normalcy of doing some work was nice. I did some social media scheduling and proofistening.

What did I read this week?

The Bat Ward's Watch

This week I blogged about:

Review: How to Steal a Galaxy by Beth Revis
Review: Home Office Romance by Kintetsu Yamada
Review: The Coffee House Witch & The Grumpy Cat by Ariana Jade

  1. Whew, you are truly in the thick of it—moving is such a monumental task, both physically and emotionally. It makes total sense that you’re feeling stretched in every direction. I’m really glad to hear the packing is going well though, and getting the keys is a huge milestone (even if it adds more to the to-do list). I hope you can sneak in little breathers when you can—and that the headache eases up soon. One box at a time—you’re doing so well

    • Moving really is a monumental task. It is so tiring physically and emotionally. I am glad the packing is going well and that we now have the keys and can do things in the house as well. It’s hard to get enough breathers in, but I try to make a bit of time every day.

  2. I can tell how busy you are with the final stages of your move and yes, so stressful and exhausting. I’m sure you are glad to know that at least this situation will be done eventually. Yay for finding time to do some more work and also sort through more stuff as your boyfriend tackles things at the new place.

    Have a good week, Lola!

    • It really is so stressful. It does help to know it will be over, but that also bring more stress as it makes me think of everything that still needs to be done before then.

  3. It’s one of the hardest things… At least you are now able to get into the property and that helps. I hope the coming week feels less overwhelming, Lola. Sending hugsxxx

I can totally get all the stress! But there is a goal in sight and I have to believe things are going to be better in so many ways at your new place. I get the stress right now, I quit taking my depression/anxiety meds back in April I think? And I thought I was doing okay, but I’ve been having a lot of spiraling/obsessive worry and thoughts in the evenings, and so I am going to go back to my doctor this next month, as well as talk to someone through what our district provides for free. Here’s hoping we both have good weeks!

    • I sure hope so, my anxiety is a mess and I am worrying if the new place will just be worse, but I think that’s because of being autistic and not handling change well. I hope once we’re settled there and I will feel more at home there.

Sorry to hear about you having a lot of spiraling/obsessive worry and thoughts in the evenings. Hopefully your doctor can help you and there are some free options in your district that are helpful.

Today is the three anniversary of moving into our current house. We had lived in the other house for 30 years. So much cleaning out, selling things and getting it ready to sell. And every time you think you have a handle on things, something goes wrong and you have juggle everything. I feel your pain. I hope things end up setting down for you. It’s amazing you got any blogging/reading done at all. Good luck.

    • We have lived here for 12 years I think and I was surprised how much stuff we had accumulated as well as some stuff we never sorted through when we moved here. So much cleaning out to do. And indeed every time we have a handle on things something else pops up or goes wrong. I can’t imagine moving from a house you lived 30 years, that must be even worse. So how it is now that moved, is it nice have done all that cleaning out?
