The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
What happened this week?
This was an eventful week. I had a dentist appointment for two cavities. It took longer than expected as I think something wrong or not smoothly with the procedure and I sat there for almost a whole hour. I was exhausted and stressed after that. Luckily I could take it a bit easier after that. I had bought some drinkable breakfast drink that I could drink with a straw afterwards as the anesthesia always sticks around for hours and it’s hard to eat with half of my mouth numb.
Then later in the week I had lunch with my sister. We had a nice lunch at a new to us place and the food was great. It was fun to catch up with her, she recently moved and told me all about her new house as well as an upcoming vacation, which was great to hear about.
We still have that one mosquito handing around, but no new ones seem to get in the house so far, so I think our measures are working.
I called someone to ask about our rent going up and whether we could keep our current rent, but I just got a rude reply about how that obviously wasn’t possible. We can still pay it for now but things are going to be tight. And it all depends on the results of that stressful meeting we had recently as our financial situation might get worse. So there was some worrying about houses and money this week, it’s making me feel stressed. We’re looking for a new house, but it’s not going very well yet and we’ll likely have to wait another year or two to find something.
I didn’t get much work done this week with being tired from the dentist appointment, but I did finish the book I was prooflistening to.
What did I read this week?
This week I blogged about:
– Review: Mystery at an Irish Wedding by L.C. Winters
– Review: Axing at the Antique Store by Beth Dolgner
– Review: Winning Back Persephone by Laura Greenwood
What to expect next week on the blog:
– Review: The Potion Dealers by Lidiya Foxglove
– Review: The Little Lost Library by Ellery Adams
– Review: Rite of Blood and Vows by Laura Greenwood
Eek! Dentist appointments AND dire news on the housing front!! How obnoxious to get such a rude, unhelpful reply regarding your rent increase. There’s absolutely no excuse for that. Fingers crossed that something comes up and I’m glad that at least your proofing job went well. Take care, Lola.
It sure was a stressful week. And I agree there was no reason for the person to be rude about the rent increase, a normal polite no would’ve worked just fine.
My mom had to go to an emergency dentist earlier this week, she had a bit of trouble too and ended up walking out of the first place when she’d sat there for over an hour and they were still trying to get her to do all these extra things besides what she was there for. She found another one closer to her house and she ended up really liking them. I need to go to the dentist this summer. I’m so sorry about all the housing issues. I hope you are able to get something figured out that works financially for you and sooner rather than later!

That sounds so stressful with your mom’s emergency dentist appointment and then having trouble and havign to find a new place, good to hear the second place was so nice though. I hope your dentist appointment this summer goes smoothly.
The house issue is so stressful, I even found out that if we can get in social housing we can get financial help for the rent, but not for the house we’re currently in. It’s so frustrating we’re not in the right place yet and can’t easily get there despite struggling financially.
Well that week is over. Hopefully this one will be better and some new solutions will be found.

I sure hope that this week will have some new solutions, that would be nice.
I really hate going to the dentist.
Glad that you didn’t have more mosquitoes.
Same here I hate going to the dentist, at least it’s fixed now. And I am glad no new mosquitos seem to enter the house anymore, let’s hope we can get rid of this last one that’s hanging around.
