sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This week was again a bit of a struggle with my low mood and energy levels due to the gloomy and dark weather this time of the year. I continue using my daylight lamp, which seems to help a little bit, but I am hoping to see more effect from it. I do wake up more easily when using it, so that’s nice at least and I feel less sleepy during the day. I felt a bit better mood wise later in the week, but then my period migraine hit.

There was quite a lot of noise from the renovation outside our building, so that was annoying, but hopefully they should be done with everything next month. Then on Thursday someone knocked on our windows and asked whether on Friday the balcony door could be open for a few minutes, which shouldn’t be an issue, but then on Friday it turned out they were painting and the doors needed to be open for twice and much longer than the guy the day before had said. As I was on my migraine I couldn’t deal with this sudden change at all, not to mention the discomfort of having someone work there as well as the cold from the door as well as a window needing to be open. So that completely ruined the day and made me feel disregulated. The communication surrounding this whole renovation project hasn’t been done well at all.

I managed to finish up my last top ten list post for next week, which was my top 11 ebook of 2024 post, so that’s done now too. I am excited to share all my favorite books of this year with you. I did a few small work tasks as well.

What did I read this week?

    • I really hope they will be done soon, I am so ready to not have to deal with the renovations anymore. I look forward to seeing all your top 10 posts this week 🙂

    • The renovations have been going on for a few months now and it’s been quite annoying, I hope they’re done soon. I look forward to everyone’s top ten lists too, they’re always so fun.

  1. Yeah, that sounds like quite a miscue from how the guy described the work need to what actually happened. Glad its over soon so it won’t be a plague to you.
You’ve been getting through a good stack of books each week.
Looking forward to your Top 10 lists.

    Have a great week, Lola!

    • I am not sure what happened, maybe the first person didn’t know how long the work would take, but it sure was a hassle with the miscommunication and it taking longer.

    • Hopefully the renovations should be done halfway January, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it takes a bit longer. I liked the Malka Older book, especially the world building and the mystery.

  2. It may not be the amount of progress that you want but it does seem like the daylight lamp is helping. Migraine’s are horrific. I’ve noticed that since I became ill and can no longer eat very many foods or that much food mine have subsided.

I hope the renovations wrap up on time so that you can get some peace and quiet.

    • The effect is more subtle, but definitely noticeable, so I am glad I tried the daylight lamp. My migraines are tied to my periods, so I am hoping once I get older they will disappear. I definitely look forward to the renovations being done.
