The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
What happened this week?
This week was a bit of a struggle, although I had some better days later in the week. I am still dealing with low energy and low mood due to the shorter days. This was a super gloomy week and I don’t think I’ve even seen sunlight at all. I am still working with my daylight lamp, I’ve been moving it a bit closer and I think it’s working a bit. It does seem to be important to have it quite close and for a long time in the morning, so I’ll keep doing that and hope I continue to feel better.
Again more renovation noise this week, although we had actually had a few days which were blissfully quiet and with no people in front of our windows on the scaffolding either.
I didn’t get a lot done this week, mostly just read and played video games besides the usual household chores. I did finish up two more of my top ten (or top five) lists for the end of the year. For some reason the oven won’t switch on anymore, not sure what happened. We don’t really have the energy to figure it out right now, a brief google search didn’t really help much and it is an older device already, so maybe it just broke because it’s old.
What did I read this week?
These were all good ones. The two fiction books were next books in series I like and the non-fiction book was an interesting one.
This week I blogged about:
– Review: Mixing Drinks for Tipsy Weasels by Laura Greenwood
– Review: A Very Woodsy Murder by Ellen Byron
– Review: A Fatal Autumnal Stew by Dahlia Donovan
It might be worth investigating if the electric (or gas) supply to your oven may have been turned off by the renovators.
Wishing you a better week
The renovators are working on the outside of the building. The gas is still working and the electricity a swell, so I don’t think that could be cause. I even see a small flicker of light sometimes when trying to turn it on.
Yesterday was a very gloomy day here, and we had a few of those this past week. The sun is out today though, so that’s nice!
That’s nice you have a day with the sun is out, I think we haven’t had a day like that in a few weeks now.
Oof, hope you get the oven stuff sorted out! What a pain. 🙁
I hope so too, I don’t get why it had to suddenly stop working, but is pretty old already.
I’m feeling the darker and colder myself. It was warmer this week but now that it has been cold I’m just cold all the time. Sorry about the oven. I hate when anything stops working.

Sorry to hear you’ve also been struggling with the dark and cold. We put the heating on high on the evenings so at least it isn’t as cold for a bit. I also hate it when things stop working, I really don’t want to deal with that and just want it to work.
I was thinking of you this past week when we had overcast days, rain, ice, and some snow every day with no visit from the sun. I know its tough on you. I don’t struggle with it, but I did catch another cold after just getting over the last one. Third time in a month. Grr!
Maybe there is a low-cost repair shop in the area who can come out and look before you have to go to the expense of a new one.
You got in a nice stack of reading.
Have a better week, Lola!
We had only overcast days this past few week and then a bit of rain and wind as well. Sounds like a similar week weather wise as you had. It’s such a struggle. Sorry to hear you managed to catch your third cold in a month, while you only just were gettign better form the last one.
Usually repairs are so pricey it isn’t worth it unless it’s a new machine, but I might look around and see what the options are. It’s the oldest appliance we have, so I figured it might stop working eventually, but would’ve liked it to last a few more years.
Hopefully the oven can be fixed. Hope you have a better week this coming week.
I hope so, but it might not be worth the cost to get it repaired, we’ll have to look into it.
Sunlight is important. Particularly in the morning to help wake up. I use the light from my phone to help me wake up in the morning.
Have a great week.
That sounds like a good option as well to use your phone. The daylight lamp seems to help me wake up at least.
