The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
What happened this week?
This was a pretty decent week for the most part, unfortunately Friday and Saturday we had two really warm days and I don’t deal well with heat. I felt tired, warm and didn’t feel like doing anything.
Work wise it was a decent week. I put a new review opportunity live for a YA classics reletelling with mermaids. I did the usual assistant work and replying to emails. And I made a start with the new audiobook I am proof listening, I made some good progress already.
What did I read this week?
Adrift in Starlight was a great scifi romance book with a great plot and romance that kept my attention throughout. I can’t wait to read more books in this series.
The Phoenix Nest was a fun light read. I really like the way the author brings these mythical creatures alive and there’s a slow burn romance side plot as well.
California Sunshine was a bit disappointing for me as I had expected a different focus. I really wanted to learn more about the trail hiking, but it mostly focuses on the romance. It’s a reverse harem and the sunshine guy wasn’t as interesting, while the grumpy guy was so rude the whole time it annoyed me. I did like how the female main character creates a different bond with all three guys and they all slowly open up to her.

Ugh, sorry you got hit with a heat wave at the end of the week. I get rather listless and find it hard get things done in that weather, too. Glad you got a few work projects done and through three books from your pile.
Have a good week, Lola!
I am not a fan of the heat and got pretty listless. It’s so hard to get anything done when it’s so warm. I was glad I got at teals 3 books read.
Oh I don’t do well in heat either. I get headaches and just plain annoyed lol. And this is just the beginning. Summer last year was horrible, so I’m not looking forward to how hot it’s going to get.

Same here, I get annoyed too and feel bad. No headaches this time luckily. Sorry to hear your summer last year was so horrible.
Adrift in Starlight looks good! I added it to my list of books you’ve been recommending to me. 🙂 Sorry to hear about the too warm days. Hopefully you get some relief this week.

I hope you’ll like Adrift in Starlight if you decide to pick it up. I really enjoyed it. We had some cooler days, but some warmer ones as well this week.
Sorry about the heatwave. Hope you are feeling better now!

Unfortunately we got another warm few days at the moment 🙁
I hate the hot weather. I couldn’t take it without an air conditioner.
Here air conditioner’s aren’t as common in most houses, but if it continues to be this warm we might have to look into one.
It’s been grossly hot around me too, and I also don’t do well in the heat! It’s supposed to be bad this weekend again too, so I’m just glad I have access to a pool.

That’s nice you have access to a pool, but it’s still annoying when it’s so warm. We had more warm days here as well.
