The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
What happened this week?
Most of this week didn’t go well as I was sick. After the previous week going so well I was really excited for this week and getting things done, but then I woke up last Sunday morning with a stomach flu and have been sick for most of this week.
I was so sad that I had all this motivation to get work done, but was too sick to do more than the most important things. I think I caught a stomach bug when going out the Friday before. I’ve been in pain, nauseous and tired for most of this week. I slept a lot, took things easy and ate and drank in small increments. I had a light fever a few of the days and only on Thursday slowly started getting better. I am still more tired than usual and am taking things easy. My stomach still can’t handle normal portions. But I am just happy I am starting to get better now.
We did have some amazing weather this week, lots of sun. Cold nights and then plenty of sun during the day. It was so nice to see some sun and it really feels like spring is arriving.
Work wise I focused on getting to most important things done. I sent out the media kit for a tour starting next week and I had two tours running this week. I finished proof listening to the audiobook I was listening to for an author, which was fun. I did the usual assistant work and finished up everyone’s work for February. I also got some new tours for which I emailed with the authors or publishers. So I have plenty of tours to work on next and hope to get two of them live next week. I managed to put one new tour live for a YA fantasy/ fairytale retelling book.
I had two 3 stars reads and then a DNF and with me feeling sick I decided it was time for a re-read and started re-reading Removed by S.J. Pajonas, which was the best decision! It’s so fun to re-read this one. I think I’ll finish my re-read today.
What did I read this week?
Only A Country Doctor Can Save This City Rose has a great romance, characters and some great character development, but I didn’t really care for the health issue and the drama and conflict. I enjoyed how we keep seeing the previous couples too and how we get to know more sisters.
Saving Her Mates was the last book in this series, but I felt like I was in a different mind space and couldn’t appreciate it as well sadly.
I DNF’d Accidental Magic as it wasn’t gripping me and I didn’t care for the main character and the mother/ daughter dynamic felt a bit off.
This week I blogged about:
– Review: Hexes and Vexes by Laura Greenwood and Arizona Tape
– Review: Proper Scoundrels by Allie Therin
What to expect next week on the blog:

Thanks! I am feeling better now, but it sure lasted a long time.
Sounds like a lot of work planned. Hope you are fully recovered soon!
Luckily I am fully recovered now and got a lot more work done this week.
Hope you are feeling better! That’s awful when you get sick and it takes your whole week. The tours sound like they are going well…
Hoping you have a nice new week ahead.

It was really annoying to get sick like that, luckily the tours are going well. And this week was a lot better 🙂
Oh no, so sorry to hear you had the stomach flu.

Thanks! It really was a pain, but I am doing better now 🙂
Stomach flus are the worst. I am so sorry it wasn’t the best week. I hope things are better for you going forward.
It really was bad and lasted a long time too. Luckily this week was a better one.
Ah man, you poor thing. I’m glad you’re on the mend and can start eating again. Way to go getting the priority work done even with that horrid stomach flu. Too bad the new books didn’t grab you, but glad the re-read could give you a good book this week.
Wishing you well, Lola!

It really was annoying having that stomach bug, food was suddenly so yummy again when I started feeling better. I am glad I picked up a re-read as it was exactly what I needed.
Oh no. I’m sorry to hear you caught a stomach bug. My youngest is home from school today with a stomach bug too. Seems that all the viruses are coming back now that people aren’t masking as much anymore. So glad you’re enjoying (or enjoyed) the re-read of Removed! I really loved editing the whole series.

Sorry to hear your youngest also caught a stomach bug.
I really loved my re-read of Removed and hope to get around to re-reading the rest later this year too.
