The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
What happened this week?
This week didn’t go as smooth as I would’ve liked and I am still low on energy. I feel like the stress of the past few months finally got to me and I just have so little energy to get things done. I don’t want to get another burn out like I did a few years back, so I took some extra time off again this week and hopefully next week will be better again. I did some extra gaming, reading and trying to relax. December wasn’t the best month for my business, so I hope January will be better again.
I still got some work related things done this week. I finished up the December assistant work for my authors. I also worked on a new blog tour that I put live on my site. This tour is for a YA contemporary book written by a fourteen year old.
I wanted to do a post about my favorite books of 2022, but I just didn’t have the motivation to put it together. I did have a good reading year and you can see all the books I read here on Goodreads. I read a total of 130 books this year.
I want to wish you all a great 2022! I hope this will be a good year.
What did I read this week?
The Earth Legend was sadly a DNF. I was quite torn up over that as I really enjoyed books 1 and 2. I also like how long these audiobooks are, but I felt the tone really changed in book 3. There was so much drama and character doing weird things because they’re hurting and so much heartache. And way less focus on the plot about the prophecy. I just couldn’t handle it anymore and decided to DNF it. I read spoilers for the future books and I think I wouldn’t enjoy the future books either. Too much drama and heartache. After that I decided to go back to my re-read of the Flyght series as I knew that was an audio I would enjoy.
Luckily my other 2 reads this week were good. Proper Scoundrels was a great read. I really liked the couple, how different were and how good together. They were so sweet together.
I also finished 8 Steps to Side Characters which was a really good non-fiction book packed with information about how to write side characters.
This week I blogged about:
– Review: A Gilded Cage by Auburn Tempest and Michael Anderle
What to expect next week on the blog:
– Review: Pretend to be my Cowboy by Sophia Quinn
– Review: Bound to Execute by A.C.F. Bookens

Thanks! Luckily my reading have been pretty good lately even with my lower energy levels.
Hi there Lola! Happy New Year to you!!
I am also terribly low on energy this past two weeks. I haven’t been well (luckily not Covid), but try to take it easy until I feel a bit better.
I hope it will be a great year for you with great book and blog tours coming your way! I’ll participate as much as I can!
Lots of Love,

Happy new year to you too! I am sorry to hear you’ve been low on energy and haven’t been well. I hope you feel better soon.
I hope it will be a great year and I appreciate your help with my blog tours 🙂
The holiday energy drain is real. Hope you get back to normal soon. Bummer about the DNF, but if it isn’t working then moving on to the next book is for the best. Glad your other reading was really good.
Happy New Year, Lola!

I hope I get back to normal soon too. It was a shame about the DNF, but luckily the next book was a good one.
You really had a very good reading year! I hope you are feeling better for the New Year. I am tired with all the things I tried to do over this past year and looking forward to a bit more low-key schedule. We’ll be staying home as much as possible with the new Covid outbreaks anyway. Happy New Year!

Thanks! It really was a great reading year, one of my highest amount of books read in a year so far I think. I hope you feel less tired soon!
I have been really low energy the past few days as well. I hope you bounce back soon. I hate that the third book of the series wasn’t great for you. I have had several lately that I have not finished. Happy New Year!!

I am sorry to hear you have low energy as well. I hope you feel better soon! I was really sad that third book in the series didn’t work for me, usually once I finish book 1 or at the latest 2 I know whether I stick with a series or not.
I hope you feel better soon! Burn-out is not fun.

Thank you!
I hear ya about losing motivation in those last few weeks of 2021. I also struggled to get through. But I took off between Christmas and New Years and I’m feeling much better now. I hope you’re feeling the same!

Those last few weeks of 2021 were tough, I am doing a bit better and try to take ti easy for a few more weeks so I don’t slip into burnout territory.
I’m sorry you had a rough week and I hope that the time you took to rest and rejuvenate is paying off this week! I know I’ve been there and I think you did the right thing; if you push through, in my experience, you will pay for not giving your body (physical and mental) what it needs.
Happy 2022! Hopefully it’s treating you well so far 🙂

Thanks! I’ve been taking it a bit easier for the past few weeks and I think I have found a good balance for now, I hope I can keep this up for the next few weeks before scaling up again with more work. I pushed through it last time I happened and I know landing in an actual burn out is even worse, so I am doing what I can to avoid that this time.
Happy 2022 to you too!
