The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
What happened this week?
This was another pretty full and busy week. I sent out three media kits for events that are starting/ running next week and I fit in some extra assistant work. I also had a few nights I slept less good, which put a bit of a damper on things.
I went lunching with my mom this week, which was fun. We had a good lunch (bagels as usual) and did a bit of shopping. She also made two adorable crocheted rats for me, one of which now has a place on my desk.
Oh and I finally fixed the reply to your comments thing. I thought I had set it so the default would no longer be set to receive a reply to your comments as that isn’t allowed under GDPR rules, but seems it didn’t go quite right (or actually the settings menu was confusing and I should’ve double checked the settings worked correctly). A reader pointed it out, so now i have fixed it so the default is to not subscribe to anything, but you can click to receive e-mail about new comments or replies to your comments only.
What did I read this week?
I finished reading two great books this week, both 4 stars. Blinded was another great read in this series, with some nice ties to previous books. Fallout was a great sequel, although it took me a bit of time to get back in the world, once I was there I really enjoyed the book. It’s a bit of a slow paced read, but I love seeing all the build-up and guessing how things will play out.
What did I cook for dinner this week?
- Spinach Pasta
- Pumpkin Curry with sweet potatoes instead of pumpkin
- Fruity Yellow Chicken Curry with couscous
This week I blogged about:
– Review: Cat Magic by Lydia Sherrer
– Review: Minder Rising by Carol Van Natta
What to expect next week on the blog:
– Review: Priestess Unleashed by Lidiya Foxglove
– Review: Fallout by Athena Grayson

Book Haul:
Seems I was in a sci-fi mood as I got three new sci-fi books this week. To See the Sun I’ve been curious about since I first heard of the book and I was excited to see it pop up on Netgalley and got accepted for a copy. Yay! Hope Saved and Peace Force sounded promising and both were only 99 cents.
Yes, that does sound like a busy, but good week with a visit for lunch and work done. I’ve had a few restless nights because our weather suddenly got humid and warm so I have to get used to it.
Yes, you were in a sci-fi mood. I’ve definitely been guilty of book purchasing or accepting reviews for my mood unless I catch a sale on one that’s been on my wish list. Lately, my mood seems to be all over the place which is frustrating when I’m trying to decide what to read next.
Have a great week, Lola!
It was a good busy week. Yeah with the warm weather it can be hard to sleep well at times.
I am glad my mood has been pretty easy to work with for a chance. I’ve been reading lots of sci-fi and books I got for review. It’s difficult when you can’t decide what to read.
Yours week always sound super busy, don’t know how you do it all. Enjoy those new books and your week ahead too. 🙂
It always does sound busy when I list it all up like that.
You always seem so busy, that’s good though. Keeps you from being bored. Glad to hear you had a nice lunch date with your mom.

I agree, being busy sure keeps me from being bored and I like having enough to do.
Someones busy weeks are good, Sorry you didn’t get a good sleep, I get cranky when I don’t have a good nights sleep but i haven’t had one in 13 years so I am always cranky! 😉
For the GDPR rules, I think I need to change the linky we use because it has it on their website but I am not sure people know from out side.
Hope this week is awesome for you, Lola! Happy Reading! ox

I don’t do well with less sleep, so I had to resort to a few naps this week, but hopefully starting next week I’ll get more sleep again.
I absolutely hate this GDPR stuff. It’s making everything a pain and taking away convenience in so many things. GRR! Thankfully Michelle has been handling it overall, but it still is bugging me.
Have a great week Lola!

I actually really like the whole idea behind GDPR and I think it’s a good thing, I just wish it all had been a bit clearer form the start what you have to do as site/ blog to be complaint as now there was so much conflicting and confusing information.
Tell me about it, the GDPR really messed up my blog too. Still dealing with the fallout.
Have a nice week!

It sure took some time to change and adjust everything.
Wow indeed you had a busy week! Too bad for some bad nights and yes the “commenting” can be sometimes daunting to figure out! Happy Sunday!

It was a pretty full week indeed. I think I now have all the settings for the comments done correctly.
It sounds as though you have had a busy, productive week. The business with GDPR is one massive headache – and I’m not sure those that are being targetted will end up being restrained, anyway… Oh well. The sci fi reads look fun and I hope you have a good week and get more sleep.
Who knows. I think the idea behind it is a good one. It will take time to see how it plays out in the long run. I hope to get through a few more sci-fi reads this month 🙂
Aw that’s so nice that your mom made you some crocheted stuffed rats. I bet they’re adorable! Post a pic!
They really turned out awesome and they are so cute. I’ll try to make a picture of them this week and will share it next week in my Sunday Post.
Glad you had a good week and spent time with your Mom. You need to share a picture of the rats she made you!

I’ll make a picture this week if I remember so I can share the picture next week 🙂
Glad it was a good week! Hope saved looks pretty good- I’m on kind of a sci-fi kick too lately. Hope they’re good!
Yay for the comments thing! The GDPR stuff is so confusing at times…

I have read some great sci-fi reads lately and I hope the new ones I got this week are good too.
The GDPR stuff sure can be confusing.
All the GDPR stuff was so frustrating. I’m glad you got it fixed. Family time and great books are always fun. Have a good week!

It was a bit time intensive to figure everything out surrounding the GDPR. I think I have most things set up correctly now.
Glad you had a great time with your mom and that you got the comment thingy straightened out.

It was fun to catch up with my mom and have lunch.
I’m glad you had a nice week. And that’s great you were able to have lunch with your mom. I’m having lunch with a friend tomorrow so I’m excited.

It was a nice week. I hope your lunch with your friend was fun!
Bagels, yum! Shopping is fun too 🙂 Glad you read two great books! I feel like I really haven’t been in much of a sci-fi mood this year. Bit of a problem since one of my upcoming ARCs is sci-fi lol. Hopefully I’ll at least be in the right mood for that one soon! Hope you enjoy your new books 🙂
It was a great lunch and the shopping was fun too. I feel like I have been reading a lot of sci-fi and less contemporary romance this year. It is good timing for that sci-fi ARC I got, I hope to read it soon. I hope you’ll be in the right mood for your upcoming ARC soon.
