A wildcat shifter with a secret encounters the one person in London who knows it…

Miss Jane Whisking came to London in an attempt to evade the events leading to the near ruin of her family, all in the hope of finding a husband who can secure a future for her family.

Mr Ewan Milne laments the day Miss Whisking disappeared from his life right when they were on the verge of courtship. Knowing that his father is in the process of ruining their barony, he heads to London in order to make a fortune by retrieving stolen goods and returning them to their rightful owners.

As soon as the two encounter one another, they realise that it’s only a matter of time before their secrets become common knowledge unless they make a deal…one that could be their undoing.

The Wildcat and the Rogue is a paranormal Regency romance with wildcat shifters. It is part of the Shifter Season series and includes a sweet m/f romance.

My Review

I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.

I’ve been enjoying this series a lot, more than I had expected at first as I don’t read a lot of historical romance, but this series is such a fun one and I like the addition of shifters. So I was excited to hear about The Wildcat and the Rogue releasing. I had a great time reading this one.

It’s a quick and enjoyable read with a bit of a second chance romance vibe. Jane and Ewan were close to starting courting, but then things changed. Jane is in need of a husband after her family lost everything due to Ewan’s father. Ewan is trying to secure his own fortune as his father isn’t responsible with money. They both leave Scotland and end up in London. Which is were the story starts and they meet again.

I liked both Jane and Ewan. Jane wanted to do what she could to secure their family’s future by getting a husband, she still cares about Ewan, but after what happened with his father she doesn’t think they can be together. I like how they keep getting pulled together and end up making a deal. It was interesting how Ewan is stealing items and bringing them back to their legitimate owners to make his own fortune. I liked seeing them interact and how their romance developed. I thought they made for a great couple. I liked how they both obviously care about the other a lot.

I also liked the shifter aspect, there are a few scenes with them shifting in their wildcat forms. I had wished to read a few more of them in their wildcat forms as that last scene with them both shifting was so fun.

To summarize: This was another great read in this series. I liked reading about Jane and Ewan and the second chance vibes of their romance. They both leave Scotland and end up meeting again in London. Ewan’s work with stealing items to bring them back to their legitimate owners was interesting and I liked how they handled the job he’s working on in this book. I liked the scenes with them shifting in their wildcat forms and wished there were more of those as they are fun. I continue to enjoy this series and look forward to the next book!
