My Review
I received a free copy from the author through Booksprout and voluntarily reviewed it.
I am really enjoying this series and immediately started this book as soon as I got it. The Stoat and the Debutante follows two stoat shifters. When they meet they quickly form a connection, but they think nothing can come for it, but there is a nice twist when they realize they are a great match in every sense. I had a fun time reading this book and was so excited to see Frederick gets his own happy ending, after meeting him in book 5 as a good friends of that couple.
I liked how Harriet and Frederick meet and how Frederick helps Harriet out by speaking the dance steps aloud. They keep meeting at events and dancing together and enjoying each other’s company. Harriet’s aunt wants her to marry someone with a title, where Frederick’s parents want him to marry an heiress. I liked how Harriet and Frederick didn’t realize at first the other fulfills the wishes of their family and they fall in love because they like each other.
This was such a fun and romantic story. I liked reading about Harriet and Frederick. Seeing them grow closer and then finding out who exactly the other is was fun. I also liked how they talked things through when some news comes to light they didn’t know yet. They trust each other and hear the other out. I also liked how Harriet’s mother actually wanted her to be happy and not just marry someone with a title like her aunts wants. There’s also two fun scenes with one of the characters in their stoat form. And there are some fun cameo appearances of characters form previous books as well as a nice set-up for the next one.
To summarize: This was another great book in this series. It was sweet and romantic. I liked reading about Harriet and Frederick. They were sweet together and I liked how they fell in love with each other because they liked spending time together before they find out the other is a perfect match for their families expectations as well. I really enjoyed this story and seeing everything play out. I also liked how they communicate well and talk things through. There is a nice set-up for the next book too and I look forward to that one!

I love that this is a historical era shifter romance and also that the shifter animals are unusual.

I really like the mix of historical romance with shifters and the shifter animals are mostly ones native to the UK.
Everything about this sounds good. I love that cover, how cute is that?

I wasn’t sure at first either what a stoat was, but luckily the animal is on the cover so that helps.
