My Review
I received a free copy from the author through Booksprout and voluntarily reviewed it.
This was a quick and fun read. It’s a bit shorter than the rest of the books in the series and I actually wish it was a bit longer as I liked getting to know Ash. Ash is the only brother in the series and he hopes to become part of the Broomstick Bakery. I would’ve liked to see a bit more about that and whether he joins the bakery or not.
The Pastry Warlock is set at Grimalkin Academy and features a sweet friends to lovers romance between Ash and his best friend Ellie. I liked how the book starts with their first meeting and the jumps forward to the current time. I liked reading about Ellie and Ash. They made for a cute couple and I liked seeing them finally take that step to something more.
I liked how supportive Ash was of Ellie and how he baked croissants with her to help her with her nerves. I thought that was a great scene. I liked the inclusion of baking in this book and the magic infused baking that’s been the theme of this series.
To summarize: This was a cute and sweet romance between friends who turn into more. I liked reading about Ash and seeing him interact with the other characters. I wish the book was long as I would’ve liked to read more about Ash and whether he becomes part of the bakery. I liked how supportive Ash was of Ellie and how he helped her by baking croissants with her. It was such a great scene and I liked reading about how they took the step to become more than friends. It’s a great addition to the series.
He does sound like a sweetie pie. I don’t read enough friends to lovers set up.
I really like friends to lovers romances and this one was so sweet!
I love it. That sounds really good.
