My Review
I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.
Coharie Beach Café is a serial and this book continues right were book 1 left off. I had a good time reading this one. I liked seeing Caitlin and Greg interact a bit more, although they are still a bit cold to one another. I especially liked the scene where she visited his house and they talked about his writing.
I like the mystery surrounding the inheritance and why Caitlin inherited the cafe. There are some mysterious letters as well as the search for the recipe book. I also appreciated seeing Caitlin in her new surroundings and doing some thinking about her life. I liked seeing her friend’s interest in Ed and how they grow closer, although I didn’t like how Caitlin kept warning her friend away from him instead of being happy for her friend. I thought it was a cute side romance.
So far it continues to be an interesting series and I look forward to picking up the next one. It really reads more like one long book so far, so that’s good to know if you decide to pick it up. Each book so far ends in the middle of a scene, not quite a cliffhanger, but definitely in a place were you want to continue reading and pick up the next one.
To summarize: I liked this one. It continues the story and I liked seeing Caitlin and Greg interact more, especially the scene were she visits his house was a nice one. Although they do remain quite cold toward one another. I like the mysteries like why Caitlin inherited the café and where the recipe book could be hidden. It’s interesting to see Caitlin reflect a bit on her life and what she wants. And there’s a sweet side romance between two side characters blooming as well. I look forward to the next one.
