Rite of Blood and BondsRite of Blood and Bonds (House of Blood and Roses #2)
by Laura Greenwood

My Rating: 4 stars

Genre: Fantasy Romance
Age Category: Adult
Type of romance: m/f

Blurb:
Learning how to be a vampire is only half of Beatrice’s problems.

Adjusting to life as a vampire noble is harder than Beatrice thought it would be, even if she has a handsome and charming vampire to teach her history and help her understand the complexities of court life.

As Beatrice and Linc grow closer, the tension between them begins to build and even though they know it’ll lead to heartbreak, they can’t help but give in.

Can Beatrice survive life at the vampire court while maintaining her sense of self? Or is that as doomed as her humanity?

Rite Of Blood And Bonds is book two of House Of Blood And Roses. It is a romantasy series full of vampires, court intrigue, and a slow burn hidden identity arranged marriage m/f romance.

My Review

I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.

I enjoyed the first book in this series and was excited to see how the story would continue. I wanted to read a book I was sure I would enjoy and picked this one up. I think it’s an awesome sequel and I really enjoyed it.

Rite of Blood and Bonds delves deeper in the world of vampires and vampire politics that Beatrice is now part of. Where book 1 was Beatrice’s introduction to the world of vampires when she finds out she’s one, in this book she gets to know more about the vampire politics and gains her footing a bit. It was interesting to see more of the world and the vampire politics.

There’s also a lot more of the romance as Beatrice and Linc spend more time together. I really liked reading about them together. I really felt their connection and I liked their scenes in the library as well as those outside of it. Their feelings deepen and I liked seeing them get to know each other more and share more about themselves with the other. There is an awesome scene where they share some vulnerable parts of themselves. I am eager to see how things continue for them and if they figure out how to be together.

To summarize: Rite of Blood and Bonds is an awesome sequel. I really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed learning more about the world of vampires and seeing Beatrice gain her footing in this world. The romance deepens and I liked reading about Beatrice and Linc. I really felt their connection and enjoyed seeing them grow closer and share more about themselves with the other. The ending leaves me eager for the next book in this series.
