My Rating: 3 stars

Genre: Paranormal Romance
Age Category: New Adult
Type of romance: m/f

Blurb:
The last place Erica thought she’d run into her ex-childhood best friend is planning for Obscure Academy’s end-of-year ball.

Erica and Rupert used to be best friends until something changed and they barely spoke for years. But now they’re both helping prepare for the end-of-year ball, which means working together even if they don’t know how to do that.

They soon find themselves calling a truce in an attempt to keep things civil, and it becomes clear that neither of them is over their friendship ending.

And that they both might want something more.

Mixing Drinks For Tipsy Weasels is a light-hearted shifter academy m/f romance set at Obscure Academy. It features a least weasel and a weasel shifter reconnecting.

My Review

I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.

Mixing Drinks for Tipsy Weasels is a sweet paranormal romance between a least weasel and a weasel shifter. Erika and Rupert used to best friends as kids, but they haven’t spoken in years until they run into each other again while organizing Obscure Academy’s end of year ball.

I really like this series and was happy to see a new book release. I didn’t enjoy this one as much as some of the others, but it’s still a sweet and fun romance story. I liked the way Erika and Rupert were childhood friends and already had a connection. It felt a bit sad how they drifted apart and it was nice they could finally clear the air years later. I liked the fact they were both weasels and they shift a few times during the story.

It’s a cute romantic story and the ball preparations were a good way to get them together. It just lacked that little extra most of the stories in this series have that really pulls me in. It was an easy read and I enjoyed it, but I was missing that little bit for me to fully engage me. Their romance doesn’t start until late in the book and I would’ve liked to see a bit more of them together as a couple.

To summarize: Mixing Drinks for Tipsy Weasels is a sweet paranormal romance story. I like this series. This was an easy read and I enjoyed it, but not as much as some of the other books. The characters were likable enough and I liked how they used to be childhood friends. I would’ve liked a bit more about them as a couple. This one was just missing something for me to fully pull me in, but it’s still a nice story.
