When Daisy finds herself competing against Thor, she realises that the prize might not be the only thing she wants to walk away with.

Daisy is determined to be crowned the winner of the sculpting competition she’s entered, but she never intended to be up against Thor himself.

Thor wants nothing more than to prove himself with the blind judging, but now he’s in the competition, there’s something else he can’t take his eyes off: Daisy.

Does Daisy have what it takes to win? And will she catch a Norse god in the process?

Competing Against Thor is a mythology-inspired paranormal m/f romance and part of the Jinx Paranormal Dating Agency series. It features a cinnamon roll Norse thunder god and the witch trying to beat him.

My Review

I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.

I really like this series and was excited to read this newest book. Competing Against Thor follows Daisy as she joins a sculpting competition and meets Thor who is also competing. It was such a fun read, I liked the competition as well as their romance.

Daisy and Thor are both competing in a sculpting competition, the winner gets a commission to make a sculpture in the Jinx Headquarters. Daisy can use the publicity that comes from winning, while Thor wants to compete without anyone judging him on who he is as the judging is done blind. I liked the competition plot line and reading about the sculptures they both made. I also liked they quickly become friends, despite being competitors they teach the other techniques and slowly grow closer a the competition progresses.

I liked both of them and I liked them together. I liked how they both were willing to explain some techniques to the other and admired the others skill. They grow closer as they work next to each other during the competition and I liked seeing that develop into more. There was a surprise twist in the plot that I hadn’t expected. I liked the timing of when their romance deepened and thought that timing worked well for them. There is a bit of steam toward the end. The epilogue was great and I liked seeing a glimpse of their future.

There are cameo appearances of characters from previous books and I liked the way the Jinx dating agency was involved in a different manner with the winner getting to make a sculpture for Jinx headquarters. There is also a bit about the next couple Hades and Persephone.

To summarize: I really enjoyed this newest book in this series. it was such a fun read and I liked the sculpting competition plot line and reading about the sculptures they made. I liked the main characters and it was fun to see them grow closer. I liked seeing how their romance developed and I thought they were great together. There were some cameo appearances of previous characters as well as a hint about the next couple. All in all this continues to be a fun series and I look forward to the next one!

    • It was fun to have some cameos from other characters in the series. I usually enjoy that in books :). I just got the next book in this series and hope to get to it soon.
