In today’s post I want to list my favorite audiobooks of this year. I added the covers and a few sentences about each book. All of these have awesome narrators as well.

I am linking up with Books of My Heart for their Top of 2024.

My top 10 Audiobooks of 2024

The Talent Thief by Mike Thayer

The Talent Thief

The Talent Thief was a wonderful Middle Grade story with a touch of magic. I really liked this book, the way it was written and the themes about talents, friendship, being yourself and helping others. I liked the main character and how kind she was.

The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandana

The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches

The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches was so good I even re-read it already this year. It is such a lovely story, it’s a heartwarming and beautiful read. I liked the themes of acceptance and found family as well as the grumpy-sunshine romance.

Tested by Lindsay Buroker

Tested

While I like the whole series Tested is probably one of my favorite reads in this series. Varlesh Sarrlevi finally opens up to Matti and now she knows the truth they work together to solve both of their problems. I really felt this book brought them closer and I like reading about them as a couple.

Behind the Frame by Tracy Gardner

Behind the Frame

I really enjoyed Behind the Frame. I liked returning to Carson and reading about Savannah and her sisters as they try to solve another mystery. The mystery is a good one, with plenty of progress and it kept me guessing. The characters, side characters and romance are all great as well. The author is republishing these with new books to come in 2025!

A Dash of Trouble by Anna Meriano

Love Sugar Magic: A Dash of Trouble

Love Sugar Magic: A Dash of Trouble was such a fun read. It follows a family of Mexican witches and is told from the point of view of the youngest witch, who doesn’t know the family secret yet. The baking theme and magic are so fun to read about.

Homicide at the Haunted House by Beth Dolgner

Homicide at the Haunted House

Homicide at the Haunted House was such a great start to this paranormal cozy mystery series. I’ve listened to the first 4 books so far and can’t wait for more of them! I love how much the paranormal elements are part of the story and the mystery. The characters are likable and I like the found family theme.

Dark Tempest by Annette Marie

Dark Tempest

I listened to the whole series and picked Dark Tempest for my favorite post. This series has Japanese mythology, interesting side characters, a sweet slow burn romance and a main character who grows a lot during the series

All Sales Fatal by Laura Disilverio

All Sales Fatal

All Sales Fatal was a great listen. I like the mall setting for this cozy mystery series and how it gives the series an unique vibe. The characters are interesting and the mysteries keep me guessing.

The Whispered Word by Ellery Adams

The Whispered Word

I listened to the first four books in this series, and The Whispered Word is my favorite so far. I love the blend between cozy atmosphere with the realistic and at times tougher topics it deals with. The characters feel very real and are likable and I already bought the rest of the series.

Murder Past Due by Miranda James

Murder Past Due

Murder Past Due had a very good mystery that kept me guessing. Lots of twists and turns in this one and it kept me guessing. The cat is adorable and plays a big part in the story.

    • I like Lindsay Buroker’s books, I’ve read a few of hers as well, but most of her recent ones I got in audio instead. The narrator for her books is great.
