What happened this week?
This week we worked on fixing a few more things in the new house. And we continued to get some bad news about my mom’s health, so this was a bit of a tough week.
House wise we continue to work on some of the smaller things we want to resolve as well as some bigger things that still needed to be done. My boyfriend and his dad brought away the old gas stove this week, it was still taking up a lot of space in one of our rooms. Now we can finally work on fixing up that room as well. We went to a nearby store to buy laminate filler which we want to use to fill some holes and scratches in the laminate. And I spent some time figuring out which curtains we wanted in one of the rooms and finally found one that we liked and weren’t too pricey.
My boyfriend also painted a few small bits and pieces in the rooms that had gotten damaged or another color paint on them. And there was this very gross looking spot on our kitchen wall from were the old cabinets were that he painted over and it looks so much better now.
We went out for lunch with my boyfriend’s parents as it was his mom’s birthday this week. We had a nice lunch with good food, although it was a bit too long for us and we were both tired afterwards.
We got the bad news my mom landed in the hospital again and had to stay there for a while. She also got a pretty heavy surgery that she is recovering from and last I heard she would maybe start the treatment for her cancer next week, but there also was some more spreading they discovered. And it’s not sounding good. It has been a bit tough to get all the information. I was going to call my mom,but she didn’t have the energy to talk those days, so I’ll be visiting her in the hospital today.
I’ve been struggling with feeling down this week knowing my mom is doing so badly. It’s like my brain has trouble wrapping it’s head around the fact that my mom is so sick.

So sorry to hear your mum is not doing well:(. It’s such a hard thing to deal with – sending a big hugx. In the meantime, it sounds like you are both working hard making your new place a home. Take care and hoping the coming week is a kinder one, Lola.

So sorry about your mom. I get that feeling that comes with that. I’m glad at least your new house is getting things done and that you feel like you are accomplishing things there. I hope this is a better week for you.

It sure has been tough dealing with my mom’s health issues. Working on the new house and getting things in order has been good.
Definitely rough learning your mom had to go back in the hospital, have surgery, and the cancer was spread further. That was so kind of you to go out for your boyfriend’s mom’s birthday. I’ll bet your new place is really starting to look nice with the new paint and the continued work to be settled in.
Hopefully this week will bring better news about your mom and some quiet days for you to rest.
It was quite the shock to hear she was back in the hospital and needed to have that surgery.
It’s been nice having the new house starting to really feel like home and get these things done.
