sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This was a busy week work wise, but this was one of those weeks that just didn’t go smoothly for some reason. We also had some weird weather for most of the week, it was humid and not too cold, but with a lot of wind that still made it feel colder than it was. So it was too cold with windows open and too warm with them closed.

Work wise this was a great week. I sent out two media kits for events next week, put live two new tours and did plenty of email work and checking of the tour stops for the current two tours that are taking place. And a new tour got booked as well. I also got some hours of assistant work in as well.

I also finished my re-read of First Flyght and it was so good! I don’t re-read a lot of books, usually only a few each year, but I always really enjoy it when I do. This one got released in audio format now and it was the perfect opportunity to do a re-read. I love this series and it was so fun to go back to the beginning and see how everything started. Do you re-read books?

You can listen to First Flyght currently for free on Youtube. Or buy it for only 99 cents on the author’s website.

What did I read this week?

Ghost of an EnchantmentThe Ghost Camper's Tall TalesFirst Flyght audio

This was a decent reading week. Ghost of an Enchantment sadly was a DNF. I just couldn’t get into this book and it missed the parts that I loved about book 1. The Ghost Camper’s Tall Tales was another fun read in this series and I liked seeing where the story went. I really enjoyed my re-read of First Flyght, this time I listened to the just released audio version. I loved re-reading this book and spotting some of the plot line set-ups and foreshadowing and the AI narrated audio version made for a pleasant listen.

This week I blogged about:

Review: A Glimmer of a Clue by Daryl Wood Gerber
Review: Cursed Luck by Kelley Armstrong

  1. We went from pleasantly warm weather at the beginning of the week (with even a little rain) to a hideously humid heatwave that makes it impossible to stay cool no matter what I do. *sigh* Given some of the extreme weather I’ve been seeing across Europe, I should probably just count my blessings and be happy… But I hate the heat so I can’t! lol

I hope the coming week is a good one for you!

    • I am not a fan of the heat either, especially as it’s often humid here as well. It really makes it impossible to stay cool. I much prefer the pleasantly warm weather too.

  2. Hi there Lola! Your tours are all so nice and I always love taking part. The Willing is not my cup of tea, that I know. The Light through the pouring rain is more my cup of comfort, but I’m not a US citizen. Aaah damn.

Hope you get lots of entries! I still need to read my copy of The Ghost Camper’s Tall Tales, but I am looking forward to it.

Hope you will have a good week and good luck at work.

    • I am so glad to hear that! And that totally makes sense not every book is your cup of tea. We have ecopies of The Light Through the Pouring Rain as well, sadly the paperbacks are US only. I wish international shipping wasn’t as pricey so more authors could offer that.

I hope you’ll enjoy The Ghost Camper’s Tall Tales. I had fun reading it 🙂

  3. I’m glad you had a good week with work. Could you open the windows just a crack? It’s hot here so it’s air conditioning for July and August. We may finally get some rain the next 2 days. I don’t reread much, although every 2 years I do my read-along with a series I have read. 2022 is Jeaninne Frost’s Night Huntress series which I read almost 10 years ago so I want to reread and catch up on the newer parts of it (Vlad and Ian).

    • That’s what we tried indeed to only open the windows a bit, but depending on the direction of the wind it was still too much. I wish we had air conditioning here.

      I don’t re-read a lot, but I usually really enjoy the books I re-read.

  4. Yes, some of the sticky weather along with the actual temperature makes it tricky to figure out how to regulate it. Years ago, we had to buy a de-humidifier to work with our fans to keep the moisture out of the air inside our place in the summer months. Glad you got lots of work done this week.
Ah, bummer you had to DNF, glad your re-listen of First Flyght was so good.

    Have a great week, Lola!

    • Where we live we often have high humidity, even in the winter months we struggle with it sometimes. A de-humidifier sounds helpful.

I am glad I re-read First Flyght. I am now listening to the second book in the series.

  5. There’s only a few books that I will re-read and they are older books that I have on my shelf. It’s been hot, humid and windy here too. The humidity is terrible but we have received a little rain.

    • There are only a few books I re-read too, but I always enjoy it when I make time for re-reading. High humidity is the worst as it makes it feel so much warmer.

  6. We have sticky hot weather, I would love a cool day. I can’t wait for that to happen again.
Glad you are getting work, I hope that keeps up. i will have your banners today! Sorry they are late.

Have a great week, Lola! Happy Reading! xx

    • Hopefully the temperatures go down soon where you live. I am so happy work is busy and thanks for getting those banners done :). I am so glad I can count on you for the banner, they always turn out great.

    • I am a few chapters into my re-read of Broken Flyght already now :). It’s been busy here and I just wanted to know I had a great listen waiting for me when I can relax.

Sorry to hear it’s been so hot and humid where you live. I dislike high humidity, it makes it feel so much hotter. Sadly it’s almost always humid here. I wish we had a/c here.
