sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This was a pretty good week. I got a good amount of work done and it felt like a productive week overall. And I also had enough time for fun. I managed to finish two books this week and am reading a non-fiction book about newsletters that’s quite interesting. I am caught up on some of my review copies for this month again and have a few more to go. I also got a little bit of gaming done.

I had two tours I organized running this week and a new sign-up post for a review opportunity that went live and another new review opportunity that got booked for which I’ll have the sign-up post live next week. And I did a bunch of hours of assistant work. I also worked on my next author newsletter for Lola’s Blog Tours, I hadn’t done one in a while and came up with some ideas for my next newsletter.

There was one day were we lost internet for a bit for scheduled maintenance, but luckily I had some other things in the house I could do and some offline work to do until it came back. And as it was only for a little while, so it wasn’t too bad, although I did have to shift some things around.

What did I read this week?

Surreal EstateThe Christmas Gift

Surreal Estate and The Christmas Gift were both reads. I liked the set-up of Surreal Estate and the whole house psychic thing was cool, but something missed for me to fully pull me into the story and some events didn’t have the impact they could’ve had in my opinion. It was great to return to the Barlow Sisters series with The Christmas Gift. It’s a sweet Christmas themed novella, that also serves a bit as introduction to the author’s new series.

What did I cook for dinner this week?

This week I blogged about:

Review: The Horse Mistress Book 1 by R.A. Steffan
Review: Surreal Estate by Jessi Lea Ryan

What to expect next week on the blog:

– Review: Renewing Forever by Kelly Jensen
– Review: The Christmas Gift by Jordan Ford
– Review: Dark Art and a Daiquiri by Annette Marie

I got 3 new books this week. The Shadowed Crown and Dart Art and a Daiquiri I got for review from the author. And The Guardian’s Code I bought as it sounded fun and was only 99 cents.

  1. Looks like you had an all around great week. Glad to hear it. I’m glad the downed internet wasn’t too big of a hassle and you could get other things done. Yay for being caught up on your review books. I’ve been staying caught up and like not feeling the pressure of being behind which is usually the case.

Your review and purchase books do look good. Funny title for your Dark Arts and a Daiquiri. Look forward to your thoughts on those.

Hopefully, you’ll have another great week coming.

    • It was a good week :). The downed internet had good timing this time and I am happy there was other stuff I could do while it was down. I have a few more books to get through to be fully caught up and it will be nice to be up to date again for a bit.

Dark Art and a Daiquiri is great so far and I hope to have my review live next week.

    • I am glad to hear you enjoy reading about your meals. I always include it, but never am sure if people like reading it, so I am glad to hear you enjoy reading about my meals :). They sure start early with publishing the Christmas novels. I got a few, but only read The Christmas Gift so far.

  2. Sometimes having the internet off is a good thing for me. Forces me to read instead of mess around on the computer. Glad it didn’t disrupt your life too much. The Christmas Gift sounds cute. Happy reading, Lola! πŸ™‚

    • I hope my recipes will come in handy for your vegan daughter :). I only have a few more review reads to get through to be fully up to date.

    • It’s nice to have some simple dishes too. Most of these dishes I actually made quite often already, so they’re easier to make. Sorry to hear you haven’t had much creativity or energy for cooking lately.

    • Same here, it’s nice to do well with my review books. I hope I can get full caught up soon, so I can read some more non review books too.

    • I actually enjoy cooking most days, but I also like to do something easy sometimes so it takes less time to make. You sound happy that you didn’t have to cook for a week. It is nice to have a break sometimes.

    • It’s nice to read a non-fiction book now and then :). The one I am currently reading is pretty good so far.

The Christmas book released this week, so I had to read it before release day. It does help to get in the Christmas spirit a bit. I think this is one of the few Christmas reads I got this year so far.
