sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
Itโ€™s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This was an okay week. I was a bit tired this week for some reason and took a nap twice this week. It was a good week for business, some tours got booked and I had two authors book my new service Social Media Posts already, which makes me happy! I am glad authors seem to be interested in it. And two new sign-up posts went live this week for a review opportunity and book blitz for the same book. I also sent out two media kits for events next week and got a bunch of assistant work done.

I also baked some cinnamon lemon cookies this week and I am happy to be baking more often again. I took a break for a while as I liked having the extra time, but now that I am baking again I realize how much I missed it. I also am currently working on a jigsaw puzzle and I’ve been enjoying puzzling it together, I made some good progress this week.

On Thursday I went out for lunch with my mom, it was fun to catch up with her as I hadn’t seen her in a while. I also bought some delicious coconut pastries.

I think they’re almost done with the construction work, yay! We haven’t heard as much noise this week and I think that means they’re finishing up.

I only finished one book this week, but I made good progress with my current reads and should probably finish The Lost Savior today. I also didn’t do as much blog commenting this week and I hope to catch up this weekend.

What did I read this week?

The Reprisal

The Reprisal was really good and an awesome ending to the series.

What did I cook for dinner this week?

The Lost SaviorMoon CursedPawprints & predicaments

The Lost Savior I got for review and I am currently reading it. Moon Cursed I was curious about, but didn’t sign-up for an ARC as I wasn’t sure if I could fit it in, so I happily bought it now that it released and it was only 99cents too. Pawprints & Predicaments is the third book in an amazing cozy mystery series, I’ve been stalking netgalley for weeks hoping this one would go up and this week it finally did and I got accepted for a copy, yay!

Have you read a series ender this year so far?

  1. Glad your Social Media Author package was a hit. Oh, that is so nice that you got to lunch with your mom and return to baking. Yay for working on puzzles. I’m nearly done with a waterfall scene one.
Glad your book was good and you snagged the ones you wanted on sale and at Net Galley.

Wishing you a good week, Lola!

    • I am glad to see it doing so well already in the first week after I announced it Writing social media posts is something I enjoy doing, but I had no idea if authors would be interested in it. So I am glad to see some interest in it so far.

The lunch was nice and I am glad to be back to baking. I am currently working on a puzzle of New York Central Park. A waterfall one sounds nice too.

  2. Glad you are busy and the social media kit worked out! I miss doing puzzles, my parents have a house at the shore so in the winter when I was younger, we would go and it was kind of boring because nothing is open so I took up putting puzzles together, I had so much fun and would do it for hours. I miss doing it.

I also am behind of commenting and visiting but the weeks are starting to look better so that is a good thing.

I hope you have a great week, Lola! Happy Reading! ox

    • I am glad there seems to be some interest in the social media posts so far :). I really like puzzling, I stopped for years and last year I picked it up again. I am glad I did as it’s so relaxing ๐Ÿ™‚

I did pretty okay this year so far with comments, but I mostly do all the commenting and visiting in the weekend now and would like to try and spread it out a bit more over the week.

  3. I’m glad your week went well! I haven’t read any series enders yet this year, but I would really like to read some full series this year, so we’ll see how it goes. I have the last book in the Red Rising series, IRON GOLD, on my kindle and I plan to read it next. So, maybe that counts? I have no idea if it’s the last in the series though!

  4. I’m intrigued by the cinnamon/lemon combination. Sounds interesting. I had taken a bake from baking for awhile and I can definitely understand missing it. There’s something very rewarding about combining all the stuff and ending up with something delicious! I can also relate to being tired. I’m not usually a napper but that’s pretty much all I want to do right now. I think I’m trying to hibernate! Have a great week!

    • The cinnamon and lemon combination works surprisingly well and I really like those cookies. I hand’t realized how much I missed baking until I picked it up again. I agree it’s very rewarding putting things together and ending up with something delicious. I normally rarely take a nap, but this week I really needed those naps.

  5. It sounds as if professionally it was a really successful week, and I’m delighted the baking also went well. But it is a tiring month… not much sunlight or warmth. I think our bodies start feeling the strain, because I’m guessing that back in the day, our normadic ancestors wouldn’t have been hanging around in the windy, grey, rainy winter, but would have trekked southwards, following the sun and the warmer weather… There are days when I wish I could also spend the winter in the sunshine, too!

    • Normally I have a period of feeling tired early in the summer, but rarely in the winter. I’ve been taking some vitamin D to compensate for the lack of sunlight, so I hope that helps.

Luckily it was a good week professionally and I am glad the baking went well.

  6. Glad it was a good week, and business- wise as well. The Reprisal looks awesome, love that cover- I may even do a bookcover spotlight on it lol.

Glad the construction is almost done too- that must be nice!

    • The covers for the whole series are great! And it’s an awesome series too.

It seems they are done with the construction mostly now and we almost didn’t hear any noise the last two weeks luckily.

  7. Yay, that’s great that authors are interested in the social media post! And those cinnamon lemon bars sound interesting. I feel like, did you share a recipe for them? Or something similar? Glad you got to catch up with your mom too ๐Ÿ™‚

I get the feeling you’re not liking Wriggle & Sparkle since you’ve been reading it for a while :-/ At least you got some new books that look good and yay for the review copy you wanted!

    • I am really happy there is some interest in the social media posts, they are fun to write.

Yes I did share a recipe for the cinnamon lemon cookies, although I did tweak them a little bit.

I actually been reading Wriggle & Sparkle as my evening book and it usually takes me 2-3 weeks to get through it as I only read during the evenings. While on my ipad I usually finish 1-2 books each week. I just finished Wriggle & Sparkle this week and enjoyed it :). I hope to write my review tomorrow.

  8. It’s great that your business is going so well ๐Ÿ™‚ and those biscuits you baked sound amazing!

Enjoy your new books, I think I’ll have to grab a copy of Moon Cursed myself! Have a great week ahead.
