sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This was a good week. Busy just like the previous ones, but in a good way. Business has been great and I couldn’t be happier about that. I put three new sign-up posts live on Lola’s Blog Tours this week, a cover reveal, a book blitz and a blog tour. I also sent out the media kits for a tour that starts next week and I had three tours that ran during this week. I picked and contacted the winners for the giveaways that ran during Lola’s Blog Tours 4 year anniversary, so that was fun and I’ve started planning another giveaway already.

We had a burst of summer weather earlier in the week, but it’s back to autumn temperatures now. As there was a hurricane heading toward Ireland we had some wind from a different direction that brought lots of warm air here. It was weird to have some very warm days suddenly in the middle of October. Except for the warm weather and some strange colored sky we didn’t notice anything else from the hurricane here luckily.

Besides that not much eventful happened. I did very little blogging, I finished and reviewed one book, I got a new game that I played for a little while and I got three new books. I am in a bit of a fantasy book mood so I am currently in the middle of two fantasy books. I got a bunch of review books that I have to dive into next. My review schedule for early November got a bit crowded suddenly. And I couldn’t resists and requesting two books on Netgalley this week, I haven’t heard if I got accepted yet tough.

What did I read this week?

Saving Brad

Saving Brad was really good. I had some trouble with the first half, but the second half was really good.

What did I cook for dinner this week?

This week I blogged about:

Review: Pride of Africa by Tori Knight
Review: Strike Out by Jordan Ford

What to expect next week on the blog:

– Review: Saving Brad by Siobhan Davis
– Review: The Catch by Athena Grayson

Book Haul:

Magic of the VoidAnother one Bites the Crust

Magic of the Void caught my attention when the author sent out a newsletter about it a few weeks ago and it’s on my wishlist ever since, I bought a copy when I noticed it got released and started reading right away. Another One Bites the Crust I got for review, this series is so much fun, so I hope to read this one soon. I also got Foul Play by Jordan Ford for review. I really enjoyed the first two books, so I hope to dive into this one soon.

Freebies I grabbed:

You can stop by my facebook post here to see some freebies and cheap/ discounted book I found last week. Here’s the Facebook post for next week.

  1. This is so amazing that you have your own tour company!! I can not imagine how much time and effort you need to put into these tours. I’m happy it’s going so well!! A PR firm does incredible work for new authors to get their names out there. Bravo!!!

Have a great day and happy reading!!

  2. I’m glad you had a good week 🙂 hope you have another good one next. I didn’t even request anything this week! Because… No time for that, but who cares 😀 as long as my ARC stack is diminishing instead of growing, haha 🙂

  3. Glad to hear business is going well Lola. That’s awesome!
The weather was pretty strange here indeed. I was way overdressed since I just thought they were exaggerating again, since those weather guys seem to do that a lot. But it was nice to have some warmer weather.
Have a great week and happy reading!

    • It was a bit weird how warm the weather suddenly got. The weather forecast does seem to get things wrong often as well, so I can imagine why didn’t believe them at first.

    • Those are all fitting genres so close to Halloween. I did read a mystery earlier this week, but now I just want to read fantasy at the moment.

  4. Glad you’ve had yet another busy week – I’m not surprised your business is going from strength to strength. Many thanks again for all your help and support for the Running Out of Space blog tour that is going really well. In the meantime, have a great week – I’m hoping we get some continued mild weather – anything that holds up the cold ticks all my boxes!

    • Thanks! I am so glad I got to organize the blog tour for your book :).

I am happy with some slightly colder weather, although I don’t like it when it’s too cold either.

  5. Quite the list you have there. Although one question occurs to me (being a newbie here and all), ‘Are you vegetarian?’. I saw the dinner list and that’s what it looked like, so curiosity hit me.

  6. Congrats on all the book business keeping you busy. I got tempted by a few books on Net Galley this week and also spent half a gift card getting four books on sale this week. No will power. LOL I already have a bunch of reading to catch up on. 🙂

We had warmer weather lately, but its supposed to drop ten degrees tomorrow so back to fall temperatures.

    Have a good week, Lola!

    • Some weeks I do well resisting the temptation of Netgalley and other weeks not at all, lol. It’s great to spend that gift card money on some sale books. I hope you got some good ones!

  7. That’s great that the your business is doing well. Also great your week was good. I’ve started to slow down on my reading and mainly am re-reading or listening to old favorites. I have one review book I need to read. Other then that I have been good in not requesting. The holidays are coming her in the US and well family visits, so I have very little time for other activities. Have a great week and happy reading!

    • I should do better at times with not requesting too much, although I did well the past few weeks so I don’t feel too bad I requested some books now. It is nice to re-read old favorites I make way too little time for re-reading.

    • The weather can change very quickly and weather predictions can change as well. We’re having some colder weather now, I wonder if we’ll get snow this year.

  8. I was awful at blogging this week, I’ve felt all out of sorts and I hope this week is better. Our weather here has been pretty good until today, we have heavy rain but that is bringing cold temperatures and a possibility for some flurries Wednesday morning. It’s not even November yet! Enjoy your new books and your upcoming week. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by my Sunday Post.
