sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This was a pretty busy week! I got a bunch of new tour request, so I was busy e-mailing those, slotting them into my calendar and getting started on the sign-up posts. I put a new review opportunity and book blitz live, did quite some hours of assistant work and sent out two media kits for tours next week. And weeks like this always perfectly illustrate the flow of this business, where some weeks are quiet and other weeks I get a lot of new tours. It makes me excited to start working on these tours and share them with you.

There was a change in my boyfriend’s work routine this week that shook things up a bit and it will probably take a while to get used to, but it is a positive change and he got some good news about his job as well.

I finally finished Pets in Space 2 this week and then dived into an awesome contemporary romance. My evening book is a Halloween cozy mystery, so I hope I have the review for that done for Halloween :). I have some new releases I am curious about later this month, but this week was a week with no new books for a chance. Oh and I have some awesome news to share with you about one of my favorite books which is free!

One of my favorite books is free!

Summer Haikus
Summer Haikus is free for a limited time! I love this book and it’s one of my favorite books by this author. She just re-published the new version of the book and it’s free this weekend on Amazon. I can’t recommend this book enough if you’re looking for a great summer romance. I really hope you’ll pick up a copy of this book to check out this amazing read by this awesome author.

What did I read this week?

Pets in Space 2Strike Out

I really enjoyed Pets in Space 2, lots of great stories. Strike Out was really good!

What did I cook for dinner this week?

  1. It sounds like you had a good but busy week! A Halloween cozy mystery sounds fun 🙂 I keep forgetting Halloween is coming up, all the shops here have had all the Christmas stuff up since September :/

I hope you have a good week ahead!

    • The Halloween cozy mystery was fun. We in here in the Netherlands celebrate Sinterklaas before Christmas, so the stores are decorated with that instead of Halloween. Halloween isn’t as big here, but I do like to read a Halloween book if I can around this time.

  2. So glad you are busy! *whispers* I’ll have your banners today!!!
I am glad the change is positive but it does take some time to get used to.

I really need to read at least one Cozy. They sound so fun to read. A halloween one sounds like fun.
Creamy Spinach Pasta sound delicious! I am off to check that out! 🙂

I hope you have a great week, Lola! Happy Reading! ox

    • Thanks for the banners! I always love seeing how you design them!

I hope you get to try a cozy mystery once. It’s one of my favorite genres.

It’s a great recipe, I really like the spinach pasta. I made it with soy milk this time, which worked great too.

    • It always takes a bit of time to adjust to changes, but it is a positive change. It’s been a good few weeks for my business and I hope it keeps up 🙂

  3. Ooh a Halloween cozy- perfect for this time of year! Hope it’s good. I like a good scary read or a mystery/ thriller but I don’t really read horror, so I’m kinda picky about my October reads I guess lol. And hope the schedule change for your BF’s job works out good for you guys!

Glad it was a good week for tours too!

    Have a great week ahead!

    • It was a fun read, I ended up giving it a 3 star as the mystery and romance were a bit of a let down. But the Halloween theme was great. I don’t really read horror or really scary books either, but I do enjoy a good cozy mystery.

Kudos on the extra business, Lola! Always good to have the income flow moving, and to stay busy. That mashed potato meal sounds pretty good. Congrats to your boyfriend for the good news at work. Hugs and happy Monday! RO

    • I don’t read a lot of Halloween themed books either, so it was fun to read a Halloween cozy this time. I do usually manage to read some Christmas books, but less Halloween ones. And paranormal books are always good to read during this month as well!

    • I hope a lot of people got their copy of Summer Haikus during the free days :). It was a good week and I had planned in advance that I wanted to read this cozy close to Halloween as it seemed so fun to try and read that around Halloween.
