sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This was a pretty busy week. Just like last week I felt a bit off for part of this week and on Tuesday my tiredness caught up with me and I ended up taking a nap as I couldn’t focus at all. I also had to deal with two headaches, but besides that it was a pretty good week.

I worked on a new book blitz and review opportunity for author Jennifer Faye and both events are live now. I have another review opportunity to work on next that should be live next week. I also had a book blitz and a bookstagram blitz run this week. I finished up this month’s assistant work and even made a start on next month’s work already.

And I am almost finished with Pets in Space 2, it’s a great read, but after reading the same book for 3 weeks I really want to start a new book. Even though in fact it contains 12 stories, it still feels weird to read the same book and genre for so long. I got a new ARC this week for Strike Out by Jordan Ford and hope to dive into that next.

September Reading Stats

It’s the first day of October today, so let me share what I read in September. I didn’t read as many books this months as for a big part of the month I was reading Pets in Space 2.

  1. Headaches are so annoying 🙁 I hope you’re feeling 100% better now though.

It sounds like you’ve had a busy reading month, even if you have been reading the one book for a while…I just looked it up, that’s a lot of pages! I hope all the stories in it are good ones 🙂

    • It was really interesting to read about Kenya. I think this was the first book i read about Kenya. The shifter aspect is pretty limited and book one is free, so you might want to give it a try to see if it works for you.

  2. I felt so off this week and it might have been because I was stressed about my daughters room. That tends to happen to me a lot. I have been getting lots of headaches lately but I believe it’s from the weather. We are finally cooling off with only one day that will be in the high 80’s. I am looking forward to the cooler weather, I prefer the windows open.

OMG, YES! If I binge read something like 3 books in a row, I takes me a long time to get out of that world in my head! lol If it’s a good series I don’t mind at all. 🙂

I hope you have a great week, Lola! Happy Reading! ox

    • We’re finally getting some cooler weather as well, it’s nice. Sorry to hear you’ve been stressed this week.

This was an anthology with 12 different stories and it was about 880 pages long or something. It was a great read, but it was also nice to be able to read something else now that I finished it.

    • I was surprised I still read this much. But two of these were really short, like 50 pages and 3 of the others were around 150 pages, so that helps ;).

  3. I read less in September too, I blame Netflix. After holding off all summer, more or less, I returned to netflix binging in September, to the detriment of my reading lol. Oh well. Glad you had a pretty good week, other than the headaches.

I know what you mean about reading the same book for a while. After a while you just want it to be over, even if it’s good!

Hope the new week is good for you.

    • I got stuck in a 880 pages long novel, I just finished it and while it had 12 stories, I am only counting it as 1 as it’s an anthology. So yeah that’s why it looked like I read less this month. And I sure was happy to pick up another book and genre after that, even though it was a great read.

It’s nice to go on a netflix binge, but I can see how that cuts in your reading time.

  4. So sorry about the headaches, Lola:(. I don’t expect I helped with my sudden change. Thank you so much for your kind understanding – I cannot tell you how much your support has meant during setting this whole thing up… I am always impressed by the range of your reading – the Huntress of the Star Empire looks an interesting series. In the meantime, I hope the coming week is a smoother one – for both of us!

    • No problem! Things like that happen and I am just glad we could change things around before the tour started :).

The Huntress of the Star Empire is such a good series! I would definitely recommend it 🙂

  5. I missed your Sunday post! Probably because I was hauling butt to finish Daydreamer 4. 🙂 It’s good to see you made it through the week even with headaches. I was pretty tired last week and this one too, so I’m hoping for a restful weekend this weekends!

    • The headaches were annoying. I am doing a bit better this week, less tired luckily than last week. I hope you’ll have a restful weekend!
