sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

Another weird and busy week. My boyfriend started his second semester of school this week and it’s been hard trying to adjust to a new schedule. We’re going to sleep early and I still feel like I haven’t slept enough. I had a horrible headache on friday and felt stressed because I can’t seem to get everything done in a day that I want to. I hope I get into the new routine soon.

It also was a busy week for Lola’s Blog Tours, with two tours starting this week and putting the finishing touches on the media kits for next week’s cover reveal. I had to redo the whole html media kit for thecover reveals as there was a mistake somewhere that made a few lines of text disapear and I couldn’t figure out why. And there’s a new book blitz open for sign-up, it’s a bit of a last minute blitz. So if you host Young Adults books and have an open spot on your blog from 15 till 21 February, I would really appreciate it if you could sign-up.

As we were really worried about Pita, we called the vet on Monday, at first the vet assistant told us we could wait till friday, but after some reconsidering and another phone call I was able to get a visit on monday evening. I was really happy we got to visit so early and even the vet himself told us we made the right descision to come to soon. Just like we expected the vet thinks Pita is having an inner ear infection, these can be really nasty for rats, so we had to start with her new medicine on monday evening. She lost some weight so we’re giving her lots of yummies. We don’t see much improvement yet sadly :(. She’s still being fien one moment and then looking horrible the next moment.

WinterCoyer
I finished seven books so far. The last one also counted for my historical romance goal from my Bookish resolutions challenge, so yay for that! I started reading my eight book, which was also a Reading Assignment book, but I DNF’d it. So I am now reading another book which will count as my eight book instead. It wasn’t a good week for reading.

Scavanger-Hunt-Readathon
I finished two books so far, which each counted for 10 points. But no progress beisde that as I had to DNF a book and I didn’t think that would count, so I think I’ll end here with two books read. I did had fun, although I wish I could’ve read more.

What did I cook for dinner this week?

  • Sunday: Sajoer Beans – recipe post coming in May
  • Extra: Oatmeal sandwhcih cookies – new recipe
  • Monday: Peanut Pasta
  • Tuesday: Risotto with egg, paprika and curry spices ketchup
  • Wednesday: Potatoes and Peas Curry – recipe post coming in May
  • Thursday: Tofu in spinach curry – new recipe
  • Friday: Curried Cabbage with cashews – new recipe
  • Saturday: Pineapple Curry – new recipe
  • Extra: Brownie cookies – new recipe

Random Picture(s) of the Week

Pita
Pita eating
Two pictures of Pita, this was when I was cleaning the cage. Pita always goes to sit/sleep on this pillow and she has bitten quite some holes in it already. We put some food in front of her as she didn’t seem to want to move over to where the food was.

That’s what happened with our Loullig, completely sick one monday and so much better the next monday, much to our relief 😉 I’m programming your peanut butter spaghetti for next week, I need to taste that ! Hope Pita will soon be better, give her a caress for me. Have a great week !

    • Pita has been sitting with me for the whole morning so far, she’s really has gotten to cudly since she got sick, the only thign she wnats to is to sit and sleep somewhere quiet. And she really doesn’t like her medicine. We’re hopign she’ll perk up next week. It can take one or two weeks to recover from an ear infection.
I am glad to hear Loullig got better in a week, it’s always so hard when pets are sick.

I am so excited to hear you’re goign to give the peanut butter spaghetti a try, I hope you’ll like it 🙂

    • I love my sleep as well as well and when I don’t get enough hours of sleep I get groggy. I hope to get into the new routine soon.

Yeah Pita has been through a lot lately, I hope she get’s through it all.

    • I got the first book for review and read it this week, so then when I sent the links to the author I got the rest of the series for review. I usually don’t enjoy time travel books, but I liked how the author handled it.

  2. It’s always difficult when the daily routine changes, I hope you’ll get the hang of it soon, and find the time to do everything you need to. I’m sorry Pita’s health is still shaky, I hope the new meds will help, and that she’ll get rid of her ear infection.
Your peanut pasta recipe looks yummy! I’m gonna try that one 🙂
The books you added to your shelves this week all look good, I hope you’ll enjoy them. And for the DNF, how far did you get? I have used a DNF book for my Reading Assignment Challenge in January, because I really did try, and I wrote a review, so it felt right to count it anyway.
I hope you’ll have a fantastic week ahead, Lola. *hugs*

    • I don’t deal well with change and it really annoys me some days. I already got a lot of wor done today, so a good start of the day always makes me feel more comfident I can handle everything :).

Thanks I hope Pita get’s rid of her ear infection soon.

Let me know what you think of the peanut pasta once you give it a try!

I got around 30% before I DNF’d I think, I did wrie my review on goodreads, but still considering whether to post it on the blog as well. I gave it a try, but it just wans’t for me and I didn’t feel like reading, so the I know I should put the book down. I asked Michelle and Berls if I could still count it and they said yes :).

    • I am happy to never have had an ear infection, but I hear it’s quite painfull. I hope her meds help.
I don’t deal well with change and it’s always difficult the first week of a new routine.

    • Same here, changing routines gives so much added stress. I hope we adjust soon. Ear infections are nasty, so I hope she’ll be fine.

    • I can’t imagien what would’ve happened if we waited till friday before going to the vet, it was such a weird phone call with the assistant saying it probably could wait a few more days. It was obvious she was new or doesn’t know much about rats.

  3. Sorry that Pita still isn’t feeling better, I hope the new meds will make her better soon.

My routine is a bit messed up too with a busy weekend and the stupid snow, I feel all out of place. Lets hope this week is better because I realize I get rather moody when my schedule is off.

Lots of new books, enjoy them all!

    Have a great week Lola!

    • I hope the emds start helping soon, it’s so sad to see her liek this, althoguh she has some good moments as wel, so that gives me hope that she will recover.

Out of palce is a good way to describe, it’s so annoying and I hope I get into the new routine soon. I am moody as well when my schedule is off and have been moody for almost the whole book and I haven’t got a lot reading time in. I hope I can read some this evening, because I need my fix, lol.

  4. I had a lot to do this week so I didn’t even pay attention to which books qualified for the scavenger hunt. I think it ends today? I’m not even sure but I’ll be busy all day so I guess I’m out of that one.

I really like the cover of The Fire.

Hope Pita is feeling better soon. Poor thing, she has more than her share of health problems, doesn’t she?
Jenna @ Rather Be Reading YA recently posted…Weekly Rewind: February 1-7My Profile

    • Yes I think the scavenger hunt ends today, I only read two books and made sure they both qualified. I had hoped to read more, but two isn’t bad.

From the four covers, the fire cover is my favourite as well.

And yes Pita has had her fair share of health problems in the past half year. Every time she recovers from oen thign, she get’s something new.

    • Adjusting to a new routine is tiring, it’s getting a bit better now, so I hope next week will be better. And then dealing with Pita on top of that, I think I even forgot to give her her medicine yesterday evening, I never forget things like that :(.

    • I hope this week goes better and I just heard back from the vet about givign Pita another medicine, so I hope that helps.
I finished the first book in the Northwest Passage series last week and enjoyed it, so I am happy to have receievd the rets of the series for review.

    • Thanks Natasha and I am happy you like my recipe posts :). I love writing them as well!

Just sent you the e-mail about the review opportunity you signed-up for. The first book in the series also has a review opportunity if you are interested in reading that as well.

    • I am glad to hear you enjoyed John Heldt his series! I hope I get around to conitinuing this series soon, I enjoyed the MIne more then I thought I would and am curious how the series continues.

  5. Oh Pita 🙁 I’ve got my fingers crossed that she starts doing much better soon, hopefully the medicine is really helpful. I know how hard it is to get into a new routine – I always feel really sleepy for a while, even if I’m technically getting enough sleep. My body just isn’t convinced! Lol! I’m looking forward to your post about commenting back – since that’s something I really want to be good at but just don’t seem to have the time to keep up with. 🙁 have a great week Lola!
Berls @ Fantasy is More Fun recently posted…Sunday Post | 73rd EditionMy Profile

    • I e-mailed the vet this week if we could give her some painkillers as well as she seems in pain sometimes and we heard back today that we could give her pain killers for a few days and if she doesn’t get better in a few days we should call again. I am so worried about her and hope her meds help.
Indeed I feel sleepy even though I am getting enough sleep and as I am standing up earlier the tiem before dinner feels longer and while I get more work done it’s also weird to do taks that I normally do after dinner before dinner. I hope after this week I’ll be used to the new routine.
I really value commenting back so I decided to write a post about it, although it can be hard sometimes to keep up. Thursday, fridays and sundays are pretty busy with comments and then I want to comment back, but some days there are just so many comments.

    • Actually it seems like she got worse before she’s getting better. She has painkiller meds now as well and got an abcess. But I’ll tell you all about that next week. She’s such a cutie!
