My Review
I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.
The Sweet Spot is the fifth book in this series. I read and enjoyed the previous 4 books and love the food theme. The Sweet Spot follows Colby and Ford. They both work at the restaurant from the couple of book 2 and Colby is the sister of CC from book 4. While this one can be read as a standalone, I think these are enjoyed more in order as there are a lot of side characters mentioned and it really helps if you read some of the previous books, all the characters from the previous books either make an appearance on page or are mentioned. I sometimes had to focus to remember who was who and where they ended up.
I liked reading about Colby and Ford. They have a friends-with-benefits situation going on and both think they aren’t ready for more, but slowly they realize they do want more and their romance deepens. This story starts off pretty steamy already and I liked seeing their romance build upon what they already had. These two were just so fun to read about and I like how they are there for each other. They also have some very obvious chemistry and seeing their friendship deepen into love was awesome. They have some things to work through throughout the story and I thought this was well written without feeling forced or with too much drama. I like how they talk things through eventually.
I really like this series, the food theme is great and I like reading about all the food these characters make in this book. I also appreciate how well the characters are written and how their romance develops. This is not a long read, but it feels like the perfect length for the story. I liked how the ending wrapped everything up for the characters and left them in a good place. I hope there will be more books as I am really enjoying this series.
To summarize: This series is great if you’re looking for foodie romances. I really liked this fifth book in the series and all the previous main characters make appearances or are mentioned, so it’s easier to keep up with that if you read these in order. I liked reading about Colby and Ford, they have a friends-with-benefit situation going on, but slowly both realize they want more. I liked how they work things through and talk things through afterwards. I liked how supportive these two are of each other and I liked seeing them figure things out. The ending wrapped things up satisfyingly.

Sometimes I like a cute foodie romance.
It really was.
I love books with food in them, and this series sounds good. Great review, I’ll have to check these out!
