Can Juniper and Senna find love while telling ghost stories?

After a bad break-up, witch Juniper is left to pick up the pieces. Luckily, she doesn’t have to do it on her own. She has her cheeky ferret familiar and her best friend Senna to help her move on. But as time goes on, some of the lines blur between them and Juniper is left questioning if she has caught feelings for her best friend.

****

The Ghost Story Witch & The Boisterous Ferret is part of the Cobblestone Coven series and contains a complete sapphic romance and a happy ever after. It’s a light-hearted witchy paranormal rom-com between two women. It has familiars with minds of their own and is set in a modern world where magic is open and abundant.

My Review

I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.

I really like the Cobblestone Coven series and was looking forward to this book which follows a different character than the main books in the series. This one is about Juniper, her girlfriend breaks up with her out of nowhere and she has to adjust to life without her. Then she slowly starts developing feelings for her best friend Senna. This book starts on Halloween, then there is Bonfire Night as well as a Christmas market, a Valentine’s date and the epilogue takes place during Halloween the next year. It made it feel very festive and fun.

I had a lot of fun reading this one. I enjoyed getting to know Juniper and see her close bond with Senna as that slowly grows into more. I liked reading about the festivities they attend like the Bonfire Night and Christmas market. I also really liked Juniper’s familiar Bandit, who is a very active and boisterous ferret, he was so fun to read about it and really added to the book. The ghosts stories Senna tells Juniper about the places they visit were fun to read about and sometimes a bit sad as well.

I liked reading about Juniper and Senna, they are best friends and their close bond is obvious. It takes a bit of time after her previous breakup before Juniper realizes she’s in love with Senna and then more time before she finally confesses that. I liked reading about these two and seeing how they make their relationship work. The epilogue was super sweet and made me happy for the characters.

This one also has some fun mentions of the characters from the main books. The characters stop by at the café were Cassie works and they are part of the same friend group. I also liked seeing a bit more of the world with Juniper having a ferret familiar as well as the ghosts stories and some mentions of their magic. I wouldn’t have minded a bit more magic tough.

To summarize: This was a fun and sweet festive story. Juniper’s girlfriend breaks up with her out of nowhere and she has to adjust to that and as she spends more time with her best friend Senna realizes she’s in love with her. This one has a very festive vibe with it taking place from Halloween till Valentine’s day and having Bonfire Night and a Christmas market visit between that with the epilogue taking place during Halloween the next year. There are some spooky and witchy vibes too with senna telling Juniper ghosts stories about the places they visit. I liked reading about Juniper and Senna, they have such a close bond and I liked seeing them grow even closer. Bandit the ferret was so cute and fun to read about. And I liked the mentions of Cassie and Faye from the main books and the visit to the cafe were Cassie works. All in all a very fun addition to this series and I can’t wait to read more books in this series.
