My Unexpected BoyfriendMy Unexpected Boyfriend (Lyrics of Love #10)
by Melody Sweet

My Rating: 4 stars

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Age Category: New Adult
Type of romance: MF

Blurb:
He finds her opinionated and annoying. She thinks he’s nothing more than a heartless rock star. Can opposites who drive each other crazy find a way to romance?

Flick:
Felicity needs to loosen up already. Talk about a buzzkill. She drives me crazy with her sharp tongue and quick come backs.
I’d love to kiss those snarling lips of hers. Something about the fire in her blue eyes makes me feel things—dangerous things that could get me in trouble.

I should ignore her, but that’s kind of hard to do when we’re living on the same tour bus. It’s only a couple of months. I can do this. I just need to focus on the music and forget about her citrus scent and the fact her challenging rhetoric can slice right through me.

Fliss:
I’ve never met a more egotistic, irritating, intelligent, talented human being in my life.
Every time I turn around, Flick’s right there, making my guts burn with his intense gaze or his stupid smirk. It’s not fair that he’s so good-looking. There should be a law against it.

Men are mean. They lie. They use. They only ever break your heart. The guy I thought I was going to marry proved that.
So, why does Flick have to be so honest?
Why do his words get under my skin?

This is going to be a really long tour. Falling for Flick is the worst idea ever. So why can’t I resist it?

My Review

I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.

My Unexpected Boyfriend is about Flick on of the Chaos band members and Fliss who is Marcus’ sister. This is a great opposites attract romance and I really enjoyed seeing these fall for each other and make it work.

They start of with plenty of banter and different opinions. I enjoyed seeing them to get to know the other better. Fliss could be a tad judgmental at first thinking she had Flick all figured out and I liked when he proved to be more complex than she thought and how she got to know him better and revised her original opinion. I also liked how their argument about sex got resolved and how they both got to understand the other’s point of view.

I liked getting to know Flick more, while he has been in multiple stories so far, I never felt like we got a good idea of his personality. And this book definitely fixes that. I liked getting to know his characters, from his troubled past to his love for music and the whole complex person he was. Fliss was interesting too, I liked her viewpoint on things and how she loved so fully. It was sad to hear what she had gone through and how she was dealing with that. But also great to see her find true love and happiness.

These two were great for one another and I enjoyed seeing them figure that out. They have a few obstacles in their path, but I liked seeing them overcome those and how they both made the other better. I really liked them together.

As this story follows one of the Chaos band members there are lots of couples form previous books. there is Jimmy and Nessa, Ralphie and Veronica as well as Marcus and Kelly. It was great to see some of the previous main characters again in this book. It’s fun to read about this band.

To summarize: this was a great opposites attract romance. I liked seeing Fliss and Flick’s differing opinions and how slowly they got to know the other better. I liked seeing their romance build and develop and I think they made for a great couple. It also was nice to see some of the previous main characters again. I liked getting to know Flick, he was an interesting characters. Fliss was a tad judgmental at first, but I liked how she changed her mind about Flick. They both have some things to deal with. Another great read in this series!
