by Laura Greenwood
My Rating: 4 stars
Genre: Paranormal Romance/ Mythology
Age Category: Adult
Type of romance: m/f
Blurb:
As the host of Jinx’s Lock and Key parties, Qetesh loves watching other people fall in love but hasn’t found it for herself.Qetesh loves to help others find romance, but is wary of letting anyone in, thanks to her reputation as a love goddess and the secrets she’s keeping. When she starts working with her best friend’s brother, everything changes.
Jacob is wary of finding love, especially after his boundaries have been crossed a few times. Meeting a love goddess wasn’t how he thought his love life would change, but now that he has, there’s no denying the effect she has on him.
As the two of them learn more about each other, they discover they have more in common than either of them thought, and Qetesh soon finds herself admitting to things she’s never told anyone before.

My Review
I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.
I really like the Jinx series and after I finished Sleigh Rides with St. Nick I wanted more and had just received this one as an ARC, so I started this one right away. Locking Down Qetesh follows the romance between Qetesh and Jacob. Qetesh has been a side character in previous books were her Lock and Key parties have been mentioned and it was fun to get her perspective now. Jacob is the brother of Qetesh’ best friend and they’re co-workers as well.
I liked this book, like the other books in the series it’s a fun and easy read. I easily got into it and these are just the perfect type of reads during this stressful period in my life. I liked reading about these characters and seeing them grow closer. I really liked them together, it was fun to read about them and seeing them talk with each other and grow closer. They were so sweet together.
They are both asexual characters and I liked seeing how that influenced their dating and seeing how they talked about it. There is a steamy scene and I liked how the vibe of it was different due to both characters being ace. It also was interesting seeing how Qetesh struggled with the fact she’s a love goddess, but also asexual. I liked seeing how she grows more comfortable with being asexual and eventually admits it to Jacob. I also liked how Qetesh is a dryad and reading about that part of her and her plants. It also was fun seeing the wedding of Qetesh’s best friend play out and how they got matched during one of Qetesh’s parties
To summarize: I really liked this book. It’s a fun, light and easy read like the rest in this series and the perfect fit for my current mood. I liked reading about Qetesh and Jacob, they are both interesting characters to read about and I liked seeing them grow closer. They made for a great couple. They are both asexual and I liked how that got addressed, it was interesting reading about how they experienced this and how this influenced their romance. I liked their romance and I look forward to more books in this series.
Now, that is an interesting twist on the romance that she’s a love goddess, dryad, and asexual. I think I’d enjoy this one, too.
I thought it was a really interesting twist with her being a love goddess as well as asexual and the way it was handled and the characters talked about it was great.
This is not something I’ve read before but I think I would like this one.
It was a great one, I can definitely recommend this series.
I think having two asexual characters would definitely make for an interesting story. Great review!

It was interesting to read about two asexual characters and how they discussed their asexuality. Really enjoyed this one.
