Faking It (Losing It #2)
by Cora Cormack

Blurb from Goodreads: Mackenzie “Max” Miller has a problem. Her parents have arrived in town for a surprise visit, and if they see her dyed hair, tattoos, and piercings, they just might disown her. Even worse, they’re expecting to meet a nice, wholesome boyfriend, not a guy named Mace who has a neck tattoo and plays in a band. All her lies are about to come crashing down around her, but then she meets Cade.

Cade moved to Philadelphia to act and to leave his problems behind in Texas. So far though, he’s kept the problems and had very little opportunity to take the stage. When Max approaches him in a coffee shop with a crazy request to pretend to be her boyfriend, he agrees to play the part. But when Cade plays the role a little too well, they’re forced to keep the ruse going. And the more they fake the relationship, the more real it begins to feel.

My Review:
The first thing I thought after I finished this book was where is the next book. There is just something so addictive about this book and Cora Cormack her writing style. I finished this book in a day, because I couldn’t stop reading.

The story starts off great, introducing both main characters and putting them in a great situation. I liked getting to see Cade’s side of things and how he looked at Bliss and Garrick their relationship before his own story started. I have to admit that I hadn’t even read the blurb and I even bought this book before I read Losing It (I never ever do this, well except for now I guess). So when I started the book and found out it was about Cade I was really happy, he seemed like such a nice guy in Losing It and wanted him to be happy.

This story is much more emotional and heavy than Losing It, where Losing It feel still relatively light, this book certainly has more dark and emotional moments. I did enjoy Faking It more than Loving It, it just felt better. Like the author developed her writing style or something like that and everything was just a little bit better. Faking It has some of those funny moments like in Losing It, that I just wanted to laugh out loud at the situation the characters where in.

The characters are awesome, both Max and Cade and I felt like I really got to know both of them. I really felt for them and I loved how much we got to know about them. Although there also where some moments I really wanted to shake some sense into both of them. Sometimes it felt like they faked a bit too much. And I wanted them to be real for a change.

There was also this part in the middle of the story that seemed to move a bit slower than the rest and I got annoyed at some of the actions of the characters. There are some parts that are just so predictable, but other parts really surprised me. I also loved how emotional this book was, there is some deep hurt and some secrets and parents trying to make their child something she is not and I actually could relate a bit to this. I also really liked the hope and happy moments there were between it all.

To conclude: I really liked this book, this book and the writing style is so addictable and I just want to have the next book like right now. I really liked both characters and I think they are great together. There were also some small things that bothered me a bit like the amount of faking they do in this book and tsome stupid actions from both characters. I would recommend everyone who liked a good contemporary romance book to pick up this series.
