Blurb:
Urban Fantasy with a Cyberpunk Twist
***final (ninthe) episode of the second season***
Recommended: start with Season One.

What’s your life worth on the open market?
In this gritty urban fantasy, debt collectors take your life energy and give it to someone more “worthy”… all while paying the price with black marks on their souls.

Back in the hands of Gehenna, Wraith fears everyone she loves will pay the price for her attempts to stop them.

Contains mature content and themes.

Corruption is approximately 17,000 words or 68 pages, and is the ninth of nine episodes in the second season of The Debt Collector serial.

My Review:
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Atonement is a great a ending to this season. It wraps up most of the open plot lines, while leaving enough open for the rest of the seasons and even hinting towards some future events. The last episode had high stakes and lots of things happening. I was a bit surprised how some big things happened in the first half of the episode, while the second half was more wrapping up some things. I am sad this means the end of the season, but I am happy about the way it ended.

There were two plot points I was most curious about how they would be wrapped up and those were the whole Gehenna situation and the romance. I have to say I am happy how they both got resolved in this episode.

Concerning the characters, there is still a nice amount of change and development packed into this last episode. Wraith changes and finally find were she wants to be, I liked seeing her grow into her position more and accepting who and what she was. It was great to see her grow so much as a person in this season and I liked where she was at the end. Wraith was a great main character and thoroughly enjoyed her story. I hope we will see more of both her and Lirium in future seasons!

I also liked the tiny bit of romance we got, although I would’ve been okay with more. There were some surprising character twists and I was a bit sad how this episode ended for one of the characters, but it did make sense, I just had hoped it didn’t have to be that way.

Even in terms of world building this episode manages to add things, mainly in terms of organisations and their position/direction. There were some changes I didn’t see coming, but they made sense concerning what happened. I liked the new direction Sterling took as a company and it was fun to see how they were getting those new companies in house.

To conclude: This episode is a great ending to this season, while on the one hand it makes me sad it’s over, it also made me happy because it was a good ending. Things are wrapped up nicely, while this episode still manages to add things in terms of character development and world building. I loved this season as much as season 1 and I can’t wait for the next season!
