Blurb:
Can you choose between fighting for your life and fighting for your heart?

When twenty-two year old Emme Sawyer joins a Marine unit heading into Helmand Providence, she focuses on what she does best: keeping her men safe. But, when the unit is hit by an IED, Emme realizes she can’t save everyone. With her humanity on the line, and her faith in question, she seeks comfort from Raven, her commanding officer. Soon, Emme develops feelings that don’t belong in a combat zone, where each step could be your last.

Raven keeps his emotions locked up tight, never allowing the men to see him sweat. But when Emme joins his unit, all bets are off; and the feelings he thought he left stateside begin to emerge. Knowing that the deserts of Afghanistan are the last place to start a romance, and the United States military’s view on fraternizing; Raven tries to deny his heart. Emme and Raven learn you can’t always choose where love finds you. And that sometimes, you just have to trust in God’s plan.

My Cover Review
Where to start with this cover? I like the colour, the red, the warm tints. I also like how you can easily deduce the genre, I mean this cover just screams military. Als it has a male and a femal, which I assume points towards the romance aspect from the book, although it isn’t too in-your-face or on the foreground. I am not sure if that’s also how it works in the story, but the cover justs hints at the romance. I don’t like how the models seems copy and pasted next to each other, the female looks sideways, while the male looks straight ahead. It looks like they weren’t in the picture together to begin with, but are pasted next to each other.

Beside that? The cover font and how the complete cover is make, looks a bit clumsy to me. It alsmost screams self-published, even though it’s actually with a small press. And then the title in the middle and below it some ruins, it just looks cheap. I do like the upper part a bit, but I don’t like the font and that block of colour in the middle that gradually lessens towards the bottom and gives the ruins a bit of fantastical feel.

To conclude: I like the colours used on the cover and how it’s obvious this is a military book. I don’t really like the rest of the cover though, it looks cheap and the colours give the ruins a bit of a weird feel. Also it just has a bit too much of a copy and paste feel, the models pasted next to each other, the ruins below them, then the title in the middle. All in all just a meh cover for me.
