Hello Jen! Welcome to Lola’s Reviews! I am so excited to have you on my blog today. I really like your blog and it’s simple design and I even started to associate the word random with your blog (how random is that?)
Hi Lolita! That is really random 😉 Thank you for having me here today! I’m so glad you like my blog; I love that others can get some enjoyment out of it.
Why did you decide to start blogging?
My first blog was actually a ‘private’ journal but I decided to go public with it. I moved a lot of the posts over to my current blog address, back dated them, and then started adding to it. The rest is history.
How did you come up with the name for your blog, At Random?
Well because “Cheers” was taken. Just kidding! When I started my blog I was really into reading and knew I wanted to post book reviews, but I also knew that I would post other things as well. So I eventually settled on At Random since my blog wouldn’t be about just one topic.
How old is your blog now?
At Random will be 2 years old in February.
What do you enjoy most about blogging?
I love meeting new people with similar interests! There’s a whole book blogging world out there to explore. And I don’t want to sound arrogant but I really am proud of my blog. I set my mind to making my mark (as small as it may be) and I’m very glad that I’ve stuck with it.
How did you decide on this design for your blog?
I originally chose a more basic template but at some point I came across someone who had used the same one so I decided it was time for a change. When I started searching for something new I didn’t want to limit myself to a design that was specifically geared towards books since I am so random. Then I came across my current template/background and it was perfect. I wanted something light and fun, which is how I try to keep my blog…plus daisies are my favorite flower!
One of the things I associate with your blog is your Sunday swag bag (this is post where Jen is giving away swag), how did you come up with the idea to do this?
I went to a bunch of signings and won some giveaways in the past year and ended up collected a ridiculous amount of swag. Each time I would pick out a few to keep for myself and decided to share the swag love and give the rest away. It took a while to decide how to do that but I settled on having a giveaway once a month until I run out. Then I tried to come up with a snappy name and Sunday Swag Bag was born.
