My Review
I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.
I really like this series so far and was excited to read this fourth book. In Crystals and Conspiracies Hazel and her coven get involved again in another mystery as a vampire gets killed in the magic store. I love the found family theme of this book with Hazel and her coven helping each other and being there for each other. I like reading about this magical small town and seeing the mysteries play out.
The mystery was a solid one. There was a lot going on. There is the vampire who got killed and he had gotten into arguments with some different people before he died. There is a vengeful witch and her coven who did a revenge spell against the owner of the magic store who turns into a suspect and asks Hazel for help clearing her name. Rumors are going around about hunters being in town. A local shop owner seems to a thriving business selling premade spells because of the rumors. And a creepy customers keeps aggressively flirting with Valerian.
The mystery was a good one with progress being made throughout the book. I liked finding out more about the vampire who got killed and who might’ve wanted him dead. And the surrounding plot lines and characters all develop and progress throughout the book. I wasn’t quite sure who the murderer was, but I wasn’t surprised at the reveal either. I liked how Hazel figured it out.
I really like reading about Hazel and her coven. They are such a close bunch and there are so many lovely scenes with them supporting one another, doing spells together and just being together. I really like reading about all of them and seeing what’s going on in their lives. And their familiars are all great and fun to read about too.
This series also has an interesting ongoing plot line surrounding something hidden in the funeral home the coven lives. In this book they come a bit closer to figuring out what’s going on as they notice their magic gettign stronger and they have some suspicions about what’s causing it, but not how or where it is located. There also is more about the poltergeist, now that they are aware of it being there.
To summarize: This was another great book in this series. I love the found family theme, likable characters, the small magical town setting and the interesting mysteries. The mystery was a good one and I liked seeing things progress throughout the book. I hadn’t figured out who the murderer was, but wasn’t too surprised at the reveal. I liked how Hazel figured things out. I really like the found family theme and how supportive of eahc other Hazel and her coven are. The ongoing series plot line about what’s hidden in the funeral home progresses as well and they figure some things out and see more of the poltergeist. This continues to be a great series and I look forward to the next book!

This sounds like a nice cozy paranormal world and a clever mystery. I like that the characters are so well developed, too.
I am really enjoying this series so far, the author definitely writes these cozy worlds very well and the mysteries are well written. And the further I get in the series the more I learn about the characters and they feel very well developed.
Great review! This series sounds really interesting, and I’m definitely going to look into it. Thanks for the recommendation!
I hope you decide to check it out, this series is so fun!
