sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

Another busy week. Lots of smaller things that needed to get done and I just felt tied and had trouble keeping up with everything. On Wednesday I went to get my blood tested, always unpleasant, but I am glad that’s done and I get the results next week. Hopefully this can tell us something about the cause of my gut issues and bloating I’ve been dealing with for a while now. I did somehow feel a bit better this week gut issues wise, but not quite sure what caused the change.

Then on Friday I had my first appointment at the new dentist here. I was quite anxious beforehand, but it went pretty well. The dentist also gave me some advice for how to fix the teeth sensitivity I was dealing with, so hopefully that helps.

We also opened up my computer again and looked more at my graphics card which is causing the annoying noise. we found out which graphics card I have and whether we could replace the fan on it, but this sadly does not seem possible. So this means we have to buy a new graphics card and first more research to see what works for my computer. My boyfriend did a bunch of research into compatible graphics card and we have narrowed it down to a few options. So progress, but it’s not resolved yet.

I did get some good news, my mom told me she is now considered clean from the cancer. Her wound hasn’t fully closed yet, so she’s still dealing with that, but it’s been such a relief to hear the cancer is gone. She will have regularly check ups to make sure it doesn’t come back.

It really was such a relief to get the good news.

And I can definitely recommend the Celia Lake books, I’ve been really enjoying them and am on my fifth book by hers since the start of this year.

  1. That is so great news about your mom! I’m sure that will help a little with stress/anxiety. I hope you’re able to figure out the computer thing, and I’m glad you and your boyfriend are able to do that, as I would just be buying a new one probably, not that I can afford that either. I’ve got to call to get the dental surgeon my dentist sent me to scheduled to figure out what to do about the fistula I have. I am not looking forward to that and am so scared about the cost of it all. Hope you have a good week!

It was such good news and such a relief the cancer is gone for now. I couldn’t afford to buy a new one, so we had to figure it out. We just replaced the graphic card and it seems to work well so far, so glad that’s done now too. Sorry to hear about your upcoming surgery and how it will be costly :(.

  2. Wow so glad your mom is recovering from the cancer. Your medical appointments seem to have gone well and they’re over. Hopefully you get some helpful results. I hope you can get your computer fixed up soon. Sometimes the part or repair is more than getting a new one. Or a new refurbished one. My daughter has been really hard on computers so we bought her some refurbished one that weren’t as expensive.

It was such good news. I had another dentist appointment this week, but that’s the last one for now. In this case getting a new computer was way pricier than just replacing the graphics card, so we wnated to try that first, but it sure has been a hassle figuring it all out. I do agree that in a lot of cases just replacing a product is cheaper and easier.

  3. Glad you made it through the dental visit well and have advanced on the graphic card fan issue. Sensational news about your mom being cancer-free!
Hope the blood tests get you answers.

    Have a good week, Lola!

Definitely sensational news about my mom being free of the cancer. I had another dentist visit for the cleaning this week and that’s now done too.

  4. What wonderful news about your mother! I hope the wound closes up soon as healing from such a major op is always exhausting and draining. In the meantime, I hope they get to the bottom of your gut issues and that you can sort out the problem with your noisy computer – that’s never fun! Have a good week, Lola:).

I didn’t realize it could take so long for a wound to close, but she did say it’s still making progress, so that’s good. I hope we can figure out my gut issues soon. I think the problem with my noisy computer is finally resolved, so that’s a relief.

  5. Oh, Lola that is such good news about your mom. I’m sure that really made everyone feel better. I hope they give you good news about the blood tests and can give you something to help.
