Beatrice never imagined someone could end up dead.

After a middle-of-the-night summons from Lord Fallmartin leads to a revelation Beatrice was never expecting, she realises her time at court is going to be much more dangerous than she first thought, and that the enemy might be closer than she could have imagined.

Soon, it seems as if the only person she can rely on is Linc, but even that bond is tested as the realities of living in a world full of vampires and the political games they’re playing to keep themselves in power start to sink in.

Do Beatrice and Linc have what it takes to accept their place at court?

Rite of Blood and Loss is book six of House of Blood and Roses. It is a fantasy romance series full of vampires, court intrigue, and an established m/f romance.

My Review

I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.

I really like this series and started this one as soon as I finished my current read. Rite of Blood and Loss was such a good read. The last book ended on a cliffhanger as Bea hears the news someone has died and in this book we find out who has died. Bea and Linc are now married and while their romance deepens there also is more about the political plot line coming into play and I loved that.

It’s so awesome seeing Bea and Linc as a couple and how they deal with things together. They have some tough things to deal with and I felt bad for them, but I liked how they handled them together and are there for each other. I can’t wait to read more about them and see more about them being a couple. They are such a great couple and I liked the sweet and steamy scenes between them.

The political plot line really picks up in this book. Bea is making allies and making decisions that influence things politically and I am just really excited to see what will happen next. The main characters from two of the side stories are brought into the main plot and that was fun too.

To summarize: I really liked this book. I love reading about Bea and Linc as a couple and how they handle everything together. There are some tough things for them to deal with, but I liked seeing how they dealt with it together and are there for each other. I also liked seeing the political plot line become more important. Two of the main character from the side stories get pulled into the main plot line now, which is fun to see. All in all this was an awesome read and I can’t wait for the next one. I am really enjoying this series!
